Have never used a heating mat before so have been pleasantly surprised by its effectiveness. Just need to research at what soil temp your plant prefers and then set the mat accordingly. It was easy to set the temp and the mat is keeping seedlings at the preferred temp. I usually buy my tomatoes, etc, as plants ready to go in the ground but have been pleasantly surprised as to how quickly the seeds are sprouting and looking forward to being able to growing veggies this year.

Have this mat under my seed starter tray for my indoor vegetable plants I'm growing. My tomatoes germinate aged in about 5 days and are still growing quickly. It's on 24/7 so it gives the roots a nice consistent warm temperature. Once they get about 6” I'll transfer them to my vertical grow tower and start my next set of plants. 5/5.
