Speedy delivery! Great product.
It tastes really good
I use your cornstarch in many products, but, first and foremost, in my Scottish shortbread, using a recipe that's been in my family for a number of generations (I was actually born in Scotland, so I'm the immigrant to the US). The recipe uses 1/4 cup of shortbread in every batch and gives the shortbread a crunch. I should say that I like all your products and buy them regularly in the store. Now, with the pandemic, it's great to find that I can order your products online, which I expect I'll do more often, even after lockdown.
I've never been a fan of using cornstarch for sauces (I prefer to use flour), but tried this right after I bought it and it worked great! I'll be using this more often in sauces and as a thickening agent for fruit compotes. Definitely recommend! Resealable bag is handy for storage, too.
Sprinkle & brush on inside surface of an uncooked pie shell use a pastry brush on bottom and sides of pie shells I distribute the cornstarch for more even browning and flaky crusts. Pie isn't completely eaten? cover & refrigerate the bottom shell won't be soggy the next day. I have used it for any kind of filling even Quiche.
This silky smooth product is multi-task. Used with cold water to make liquid it makes a great thickener to any recipe. It is also a great substitute for talcum powder. I have a round lidded tin that I fill with cornstarch and put a powder puff in, along with a few drops of my favorite fragrance on the lid. The cornstarch picks up the fragrance and you have lovely scented "powder".
Everyone uses corn starch, so why not buy it from an employee-owned company in Oregon that stands by everything they produce. I trust Bob's Red Mill quality!
Five stars for the quality of the product. I, however, only gave the overall product a 4 star rating because I hate the packaging. I wish Bob's offered all of their smaller products in packaging that is free of plastic. Their "gluten-containing" products come in paper packaging for bags less than 25 or 50 pounds, but their gluten-free products do not. Very disappointing. :(
Bag came open with cornstarch all over the packaging bag.
got 2 bags delivered. Both were open and scattered on the bottom of the box,and the driver set the box on the wet snow. It was a mess
