Have used Bondo Lightweight Filler for many years on various metals. This purchase was used to help fill wood planks - and then the planks were coated with a solid color stain (see photo). Bondo adhered very well - and sanded / filed easily. Good product!
Great stuff. Dries hard and sands smooth. In warm weather, it sets up even faster (1-2 min.), which means you need to move faster too. A drill disk sanding pad makes for a quick job.
I used Bondo filler to close up holes in a door jamb that were not needed. It worked well and was able to be sanded and drilled to hold screws.
Maybe I'm just old but bondo used to be so much cheaper, the substituted regular bondo for the lightweight variety didn't matter to me, and I like that because of the switch I got 2 smaller cans instead of one bigger can ( same total amount).
This was my first time using Bondo. First off, the smell is overwhelming. I ended up wearing a painter's mask, and I could still easily smell the fumes. There are no instructions whatsoever on the container, so luckily I had looked up how to use it beforehand. The hardener ratio is all guesswork. The first time I used it, apparently the hardener had separated or something, because when I squeezed the tube it was very runny and almost clear with only a slight blue hue. Being my first use, I didn't know any better and used it anyway. That batch never hardened at all. I shook the tube of hardener for the next batch, making it thick and dark blue, and that batch hardened just fine. You would think for $16 per quart it would come with basic instructions instead of just 21 lines of safety warnings in 2 languages...
The product was great but the Bondo didn't come with the hardener. So even though I have Wal-Mart plus I had to go to the store to straighten this out. But it gets much worse. So why I was in the store I decided to pick up another can. But when I arrived home guess what that can did not contain the hardener. Another trip and I just got my money back. I bought hardener from Amazon to finish the job. So, to sum it up product good customer experience terrible.
Great if they can deliver it correctly drivers will not let me sign the invoice, they keep disobeying the work order and leaving it outside without knocking or contacting me!!! Two times in a row now! my 20 lbs of chicken backed outside without my knowledge
Always fast shipping. When ever I purchase anything in a metal can, always comes dented, sometimes worse, but I am able to use. Any other product is fine.
I ordered the kitty hair reinforced version that's supposed to come with hardener. I got a can of the standard stuff with no hardener. no cap. this is entirely unacceptable!
the shipping delivery is bad with missing hardner tube that should be with the body filler, so I can not use it. I will return it.
