We bought some 1x4s and 1x6s for trim work around the house and they were covered in knots and saw marks. Obviously they needed sanding and filler, so I took a chance on the Gorilla filler that was in stock. This Gorilla filler is the bomb! It dries FAST and stayed put in the knots. By fast I mean like 30- 45 minutes of sitting in the sun. The boards came out smooth after sanding. The first tub was a little dry, so I did have to mix a bit of water in it to make it more "muddy", but that did not cause it to fail at all. I have used other brands of wood filler in the past, and they did an okay job, but sometimes the other brands of filler would not set well enough to sand properly, even after days. This Gorilla filler did not disappoint and I will be staying with this brand.
Perfect size tub for my home repairs. This filler is for a section of wood my dog didn't like. This is smooth, ready to use. Applies easily. I'm so excited to find and use products for projects I can do myself. thanks! Highly recommend for independent resourceful people!
This is a great product. I've used it and it doesn't shrink and I can really testify to this because I used it in a wood beam that I turned into a mantle and with all the heat and then the air conditioning coming on in the spring it stayed perfect and it accepts the stain very well.
I used it to fill holes left by carpenter bees in the barn. It was easy to work and didn't shrink when dry. The bees are gone. If you plan to paint over this you might need primer due to the yellow color. I didn't sand it but I wouldn't expect a problem with that.
Used this for a few small repairs around the house, mainly filling nail holes and minor cracks in wood. Easy to apply and spreads smoothly. Doesn't dry too fast, so you get enough time to work with it. Once it dries, it sands down nicely and blends well with the surface. The finish looks clean, especially if you plan to paint over it. What I liked most is that it doesn't shrink much after drying. That usually becomes a problem with cheaper fillers, but this one holds up well. Only thing to keep in mind — for deeper holes, you will need to apply in layers instead of trying to fill everything in one go. Overall, solid product. Gets the job done without hassle. Would buy again.
I got this to patch up a big wooden box to use as a flower box/string light pole holder project and used this to patch up staple holes/imperfections and then sanded it down before spray painting it. Drying does take awhile but once it does it sands down just like real wood, pretty cool
I'm very very satisfied with this wood filler very easy to use a after it's dried very easy to sand and the stain or gloss that is it on it , WOW !! It's beautiful, I used it on 8 , 4x4x8 ‘ cedar post and I swear you could not tell that the putty was applied,
works great.. easy to apply..drys fast!! covers holes good!! the only thing I don't like is that when I try to stain over the top of it you can see where I patched up the holes!! works great for painting over the top of it though.. good value for the money
The texture of this is more like cookie dough that is drying up. Not sure if I got a bad batch or it sat in a shipping truck a while but it was crumbly and not smooth, which made it hard to fill the cracks without getting very crumbly and going into little pieces. I've used other products from them and they were ok. I made sure to read the directions and did everything as advised. Likely would not buy this particular product again.
arrived from Walmart already opened. Some of it already dried up. Walmart wanted me to return it either via Fedex or at one of its stores. Thing is, either of those options means getting onto my car and driving there and back which means returning it woyld pretty much me the apx $10 plus tax I paid for it and likely standing in line. I have MS, so not doable.
