The Bonsaii shredder so far is working good. Been shredding papers for four straight days ongoing with breaks in between. People say in the reviews that noise is loud but what shredder doesn't make noise and the noise is not that serious. Decided to get the bonsai shredder because of the previous shredder that I had was a bonsaii and it lasted me for seven years. Is easy to use, space is convenience, noise level is Normal, Micro Cuts. I recommend the shredder.
I like it. It's what I wanted in the first place, but I had ordered a different one from a different company that said it was what I wanted, but it turned out. They didn't send me the right one so I turned to Walmart and got what I wanted for a better price so I'm very satisfied!
This is a good paper shredder for the money. I used to have the strip shredder but this is a much better, smaller cut. I highly recommend keeping it oiled which is very simple. There is a slight smell when I put it in reverse but otherwise a great shredder for home use.
Needed for home use, it only takes 6 sheets at a time and is very noisy, but for the home use I needed it works. Just got it tonite , so haven't used it much, just tested it out. So this review is really premature. But it worked when I turned it on, and shredded 6 pages. So far so good.
For the price, it was a good buy. My only complaint is the on/off/reverse switch and light indicato are all in the back, behind the paper feed, so that is somewhat incoveniently placed.
I bought it for my friend as a Christmas present. She has not used it yet. However, I did some research prior to buying it and thought it was a good product at a good price.
Everything is good about this item except one thing: the slot for the papers to go in is exactly 8 1/2" long. This means if you have a few papers, they have to be absolutely lined up, or they fold over. It's hard to fit the papers in the shredder quickly. I have shredded a whole ream of paper, emptied the bin at least ten times, and everything else is working fine. I shredded quickly, for half an hour straight, and no overheating yet...
I have only used it several times during my tax drill. The machine does not sound smooth the gear drive and the knives make a lot of grinding noise. It takes three sheets of 24 lb paper pretty well but slows down compared to a single sheet. Making the grinding noise not sure how many sheets it will take before failure but it is a small home use for ~ $50. The swing over handle is very convenient when emptying the bin. I purchased a larger one from Sams for ~$80 lot smoother and powerful and will eat 3 sheets of 24lb paper the same as a single. If I had to do over I would have went to sams and got the Makers Mark brand. Small one for home and occasional use it will probably work, due to its small foot print ( A Plus ) I purchased it for a small church but will have to eat this one for home and take the Makers Mark one to church.
1. The original carton appeared to have been opened before and resealed. 2. This unit was defective even prior to using it. When the power switch eas moved to the "Auto" position, the shredder started to operate. This points to a faulty On/Off switch or its wiring.
This arrived, unboxed, plugged in and overheated in less than a minute. The lights were green and it sounded like it was trying to work but the lights turned red and it smelled of a burned motor. didn't get even a single piece of paper through it. Obviously defective. Otherwise, decent design. Might be useful if it actually worked.
