this is a great work printer not for photos doesn't have color even the color ones don't compare to dot matrix like the epson ecotank which gives out true photo quality prints but goes bad about a year later even with the fixes so if you need files printed heck yeah then buy the toners from walmart for a cheap price for two of them and transfer the reader chip so don't throw out your chip on the original toner think it's called a chip it's the silver square thing on the bottom right, great for notes or receipts.
Best printer I've ever owned hands-down. A rare 5-star review from me. A triple at $89 delivered then getting a 5% rebate from Discover. It's a homer with its quiet, sturdy build, fast high-quality print. Plus, it holds a crap-ton of paper. Toner etc. is cheap aftermarket.
This laser printer is larger than I anticipated, but it was easy to set-up, install the drivers and create a wireless connection with my laptop and phone. It comes with a sample cartridge (prints about 700 copies) which really adds to the value of this duplex laser printer.
I've always used Xerox Laser printers and they seem to be quieter when printing then this here brother. But the price was right and it does seem to be printing OK. No issues as of yet. Only used it a hand full of times so far.
Very easy to set up and works perfectly with Windows 11. Install the toner, plug it in, download and install the drivers, Done! No ink set up, or nozzle checks. I've printed several pages using 600dpi and 300dpi and the 300dpi is perfect for everyday use. My only gripe is that the Wifi light stays on, even when the printer is in sleep mode.
Would only print 28 pages of a 45 page PDF file. Then kept printing the last page previously printed each time computer was restarted. Removed Brother software that was installed from disc, downloaded software from their site, but same thing happened. Returned this printer to store and got a printer that handles PDF files better. My previous Brother laser lasted 12 years and was a great printer, the best one I had.
garbage, 2nd printer i bought, after the 1st wouldnt work, because it just needed an ink cartridge replaced, this one i had 5 days, lost internet, then it wouldn't reconnect. so frustrating. now i'm out for the cartridge too.
AVOID! this printer is extremely “old school”. The button/set up style is ancient as is it not a touch screen. I had this item for 2 months and it would randomly go into sleep mode when I was printing. When I contacted Walmart they told me my return window closed 20 days ago. So naturally, I was stuck with this junk. When it goes into sleep mode, you have to completely turn it off and back on before it will do anything else. The ink is expensive and HUGE. Overall, terrible purchase. And Walmart will not help you when it stop works in 3 weeks after purchase.
Even after using a YouTube video to turn off deep sleep, it still fails to wake most of the time, requiring a hard reset (totally powering it off, then on again). The only workaround is to manually hold the green Go button before printing, which makes it work, but takes all the convenience out of wireless printing.
For what I needed it for. I am not impressed. I need to print checks and have to load 1 check at a time. If I load more than 1 it will grab both. Also, the print comes out crooked at a diagonal. For the price I wouldn't purchase this printer. It can only do very basic tasks and you can find a better quality printer for a cheaper price.
