Burpee Eco-Friendly Natural & Organic Seed Starting Mix, 12 Quart Soil

The best organic soil! I buy it every year!

please don't waste your money on this junk! I have been growing from seeds for years and this year I tried this brand and of almost 200 seeds of several different kinds of vegetables only one sprouted. please don't buy this junk because you be wasting much time and money. I will see if there's a way to send a picture

This product is not the cheapest option around, but it is almost always available, and it is a fairly decent mix. The blend retains water just right - not too much and not too little, so it is more forgiving if you accidentally overwater. It also buffers water a little, so if your PH isn't exactly ideal, it works in your favor. The mixture is nice and even, and it's of a consistent quality. I have been buying this product for years, and can honestly say I've never received a contaminated bag. I use it quite frequently as I grow microgreens for personal consumption on a very regular basis. All in all, I highly recommend.

Absolutely Horrible Chemical Smell, like Nail Polish. All 3 bags that I opened were like that. I looked it up and several gardeners have reported that, and the company says it is safe to use...No way. I threw it out, didn't even pour it outside, just in the dumpster!

Tis the season. Get the good stuff. Healthy first roots equal all healthy roots. This stuff works

Got a bag as a gift and have ordered a couple more. Great potting mix, expands well, holds moisture well. Light enough for seed starting

I I really like this seed starter it was really smooth my seedlings come up really well I will definitely use again and I would highly recommend thank you so much for a quality product!

It seems very difficult to keep this soil wet and was possibly made even worse by using it in peat pots. It can look wet on the top and be totally dried out at the roots. I will not start tomato seeds in it again. It turns into brown powderey dust when dry.

I have been gardening for years and I start hundreds of plants from seed every year. I decided for my fall Garden to get this seed mix and it was an absolute mistake. Just like some of the other negative reviews, once moistened this seed mix has a terrible very strong chemical smell. I have no idea what it is. not only does it have a strong chemical smell but out of about 150 seeds that I started only one sprouted, and that one promptly died right after sprouting. Normally by this time I would have somewhere between 140 to 150 seedlings. Now I have zero, have to buy more seed mix (a different kind for sure!) and plant seeds all over again.

this stuff is excellent, I use it for hoyas. It has perlite mixed in with the coir. I was using Burpee's bag of plain coir but they decided to start charging $7 for shipping on top of the $13 price tag. Forget it. I like this better anyway. It's a nice large bag that will last a very long time. There is zero trash in it. I wish I had found this a long time ago.
