from all the coconut core I have purchased over the years this is by far the best as far as value and consistency like all coconut core I always wash it strain it out and wash it to get rid of the salt content because it is collected usually in salt water areas so it's naturally high and salt content and that can hurt delicate roots especially when starting seeds are seedlings always wash coconut core with fresh water using a fine mesh strainer
I'm completely new to gardening and I don't have a clue what I'm doing. But I started seeds in this and I ran out so I bought a bag of seed starter soil from the store. All seeds were planted on the same day under the same conditions. The ones I planted with this stuff are huge in comparison (red cup in the photo). I'll definitely buy it again next year.
MUCH better price with twice as much product quantity. Fine quality. Using it as I type to grow sun flower micro-green, and will be doing Broccoli sprouts next. Using this product indoor in glass pans.
love starting my own plants at home , this makes it simple . Easy to use and has good results. Good stuff
Worked great to germinate my seeds, 100% germination. Very good at regulating moisture and will be my go to henceforth.
it really expands to 8-10 times its original size and works really well for my seed starting trays. holds as well as drains moisture well
This seeding mix was ideal for storage because it starts out compact. It expanded to be enough for my needs. ( I ordered 2) I have seed sprouts after four days with grow lights in this seed starter!
Don't forget to add nutrients maybe dry already used coffee friends or crushed egg shell, like a table spoon of each for a 6" pot. Also I sawed an inch of the edge of my dirt brick to fill my 6" planter. It will get messy so take this outside.
The product is not really priced to high but with the added shipping cost I did not like it. The product was also a little smaller than I expected, but overall I am satisfied.
Never Again. I usually use Jiffy seed starting mix with no issues. I have tried starting my Lobelia 3 times with burpee. Seedlings all died within 8 days. Very difficult to judge water needs and wouldn't recommend for seed starting. Coco coir is ok to mix with other soils but this is way overpriced for quantity. Bought because just needed small amount.
