Good to use for stability. Preferred usage as "shepherd staff", not a cane but a side support to aid balance. Could have a longer shaft but okay for a short person.

Only wish I had known about it sooner..really helps my back to support me an have much less pain. Also takes away the look of bending over to going down rather your looking up and forward a much younger appearance. Louise

There are two things one needs to be aware of; the cane will not stand by itself on a soft surface like carpeting and I found the height-adjustment button hard to change. I'm five feet nothing so can use the cane as is but other people might find this a challenge. One final note; this cane was made in China.

I bought this for my 84 year old Mom. Took her a bit to get used to it but she really likes it. I couldn't get it to lock in place but it was O.K. the way it is.

I purchased this cane at my local Wal-Mart. I've used it for 3 days at work and I've tripped over it more than once and I'm now the proud owner of 5 blisters on my hand from the handle. I have balance problems from a neurological/musculoskeletal condition in my neck and thought this would be perfect; it isn't. I'm returning it today and going back to a regular style cane.
