I wouldn't have thought I needed this, but I sure love it. Just the handle to go through the loop on the inside if the door that helps me get in and out of my car is greatly appreciated. And although the headrest performs most of these functions, it doesn't help you in and out of the car, and it won't cut the seatbelt in an emergency. I had a car cane for my mother and am very familiar with it. She used it all the time. I bought one for use because my husband broke his hip. Having a low car , it helps him getting into and out of the car.

Works great and is easy to use. Fortunately I haven't had to use the feature that breaks a window or the one that can cut the seat belt., so I can't comment on how well that works. Well worth the money!

This is a must have! My 90 year old father recently had surgery and is in rehab. I wanted to take him to his Dr. appt. in my car. We knew we could get him in the car but we were skeptical about him getting out.. His physical therapist put the car cane in the door jam and with relative ease he was able to get out of the car. What a boost to his morale! The car cane is easy to use and very affordable through Walmart. The added features of a built-in flashlight and seatbelt cutter are an added bonus.

Overall this was a great purchase for my 82 year old mother. However, the handle is a bit too long in her case and with my car and it rubs/digs into her body whenever she gets into the car (2012 Honda Civic Sedan). It could just be the opening on the passenger side is not wide enough.

I bought 2, one had dirty light switch but ok after a few dozen clicks, other still has problems with flashlight. Cutter not tested on either. BUT the main purpose is helping me climb in and out of my truck or car with a bad hip and THAT works great .

Helps my husband get out of his wheelchair to standing position before getting into the car seat. We wish it was a bit shorter to make getting around it easier as he slides into the seat.
