Candied Fruit Mix (Special Mello) ~ 1 Pound Tub

Candied fruit—Essential ingredient. We wanted to make hot cross buns but one ingredient was not locally available: candied fruit. After checking local sources, I looked online, and were very pleased at the excellent quality of this product.

I like that it was in fact mellow. not the really overcharged taste you sometimes get in fruit for stolen or fruit bread

My mother made fruitcake every year, and although not so many people do anymore, I do. It makes me think of her, and besides, I like it.

Use this to blend and mix in black batter good product but price is high . The container could have been more filled. I realized everything you purchased nowadays is never full anymore. It's either half or barely almost.. yet we have to pay full price for it.

I personally like the older variety with citrus taste. But worked out well. This was the first time in 45 years I made fruit cake. It had to be gluten free. I have a banana nut bread recipe I converted from traditional recipe. I reduced sugar to 1/4 cup and used olive oil in place of butter. You can reduce Olive oil to half as much as butter. In added 1/2 cup candied mixed fruit, 1/2 cup candied cherries, 1/2 cup raisins, 1/2 cup walnuts. I baked it at 350 degrees for one hour. I also add the mixed candied fruit to some of my cookie recipes when I want something special.

Good / as per description

This brand of Fruit for use, especially in Fruit Cake, does not work as well as what I was use to. The cake did not cook fully as the fruit is larger sized than what I usually use. I won't be getting this brand again. Might usggest using them in cookies if anything.
