Canyon Bakehouse Ancient Grain Gluten Free Bread, 100% Whole Grain Sandwich Bread, Fresh, 15 oz

We gave this "bread" three stars because we've left one star reviews for other items that we haven't cared for (we have left a lot of glowing reviews for items that we loved- many more positive than negative- those showed up) and the one star reviews were either never posted, or there was a glitch, or-- something else happened. So that's the reason for the three stars. But truly- this "bread" doesn't even deserve one star. We are a household with disabilities, so we order groceries via the InHome delivery service, which is fantastic- thank you Walmart! Had we been able to see the size of this "loaf of bread" in-store, we would never have ordered it. We measured one of the "slices of bread" in this "loaf" (time to stop with the quotation marks already) and it measured- barely- 3 1/2" x 3 1/2". So unless you are planning a tea party for elves, this stuff is pretty much useless for making sandwiches. It also tastes awful, and has a really unpleasant consistency. The flavor- and it doesn't have much- suggests its primary ingredients are surplus dehydrated egg whites left over from World War 2, and finely pulverized sawdust. It has a very spongy, weird feeling in the mouth. We tried it untoasted, and it was awful; we toasted it, and it was awful. We used it to make grilled cheese sandwiches- and they were awful. The positive reviews for this stuff are a complete mystery, as this stuff is pretty much inedible. We usually buy keto bread. The Orowheat Keto Bread is very good, but we wanted to try something different, and were curious about this brand of gluten free bread. We have eaten, and enjoyed, lots of gluten free bread before. But this gluten free bread is just- not good. And it's very expensive. There are plenty of better gluten free choices out there. Usually, Canyon Bakehouse knocks it out of the park with their products. But in this case- boy, did they strike out.

I typically like this bread and have ordered it before, however when I ordered 2 loaves of it last month I was very disappointed in what I got. It was like someone had sat on both loaves. A standard slice of bread should measure 4.5" x 4.5". However mine was just a shy less than 3 inches in height %26 width. Plus it looked like I got less in my loaf as well. I'm paying the same money as before but getting much less! NOT GOOD.

Th bread was still good according to the date but as soon as I pulled it out of the bag I saw the mold on the bottom. Before I could even open it. First and last time I'm buying from this company! It's hard to find good quality gluten free bread. Heard good things about this brand from a friend but sadly I'm highly disappointed.

Canyon Bakehouse has had some serious quality control issues. One out of every two ordered for delivery have bern acceptable. This was a brand new vacuum sealed loaf of bread and it was squished beyond recognition. Its crazy to have to fedex back bread to return!

This loaf of very expensive gluten free bread is so smashed that there is no way to make a sandwich out of this. Had I been shopping at the store, I would NOT selected this loaf. The Walmart employee that chose this for me, should have paid better attention. I doubt the employee would have ever selected this smashed loaf for themselves. This is a high priced loaf of bread at $6.47, so I would expect a higher quality loaf from the maker and I’d expect a better selection from the in house shopper. I usually get better value at Walmart so I have come to expect it always

I usually like this item since Om gluten free; however the product was moldy and I was unable to eat it. Ugh need to be reimbursed.

Didn't get to try it, the bread arrived completely moldy. Disgusting! Won't ever order fresh food from Walmart again.

Not only was the loaf delivered flat and smashed…the size of each slice is ridiculous and tiny. Two slices can fit in the palm of my hand! At nearly 7 dollars a loaf, this is unacceptable. How are you supposed to make a sandwich?

Bread was out of date before I even got it. Covered in mold.

Ordered this bread and within a couple days after eating it I saw red mold growing in the loaf! and that time i was feeling ill, I was nauseated and off feeling headache and congested! That are symptoms from ingesting moldy food! I don’t know if it’s the company or walmart but someone needs to get things straightened out!!
