Carbona Stain Devil for ink/ crayon. Only used for INK. It is a PROCESS not magic ; you have to work at it. Not plug %26 play, can't pour it on %26 expect all ink to disappear, it won't. I often get roller ball ink on my polyester/ polyester blend shirt/ slacks. My process: (need small spray bottle white vinegar/ spray bottle regular alcohol, not tinted/ roll of paper towels/ small bottle dishwashing liquid such as Palmolive/ soft toothbrush %26 Carbona for Ink.) Paper towels used to absorb ink that is moved out of cloth. Change towel before saturated or the ink leaks through the towel to other side of clothing making another spot to clean. I use vinegar instead water because even water can spot but vinegar spots less.
**1. Don't wait, treat while ink stain fresh. 2. determine if material is color safe or if treating leaves a white spot where dye washes out/ if not color safe don't treat. 3. Fold paper towel %26 put on backside of spot to catch washed out ink, change towel before soaked.
**4. Appy small amount of Carbona, rub in with finger, blot--don't rub-- with folded paper towel. You are taking ink out by towel on back %26 blotting towel in front. I continue this until you don't seem to be removing much ink-change back towel. 5. Put drop dish washing liquid on ink spot, rub in with finger, give few seconds to soak in, scrub it with soft toothbrush which will generate suds which lift off ink--wipe these suds off with towel, if they dry or settle it just deposits ink on top. If it gets dry add moisture with with spray vinegar or add another drop of dish wash liquid. If spot especially bad I might repeat Carbona but not usually. Continue this process until gone, almost gone or you give up. 6. If you get to a point where there is only a blush of ink left %26 nothing helps, clean the toothbrush, spray the blush with a little alcohol %26 brush it with the toothbrush, repeat a couple of times. The effects of the alcohol will not show immediately, if it works it might take a couple of hours. Run it through the wash.
7. The last4-5 ink stains I have been able to remove completely with this process. I am an impatient old guy, sometimes I can clean a small ink spot well enough to wear it before washing but don't count on it. **I have just realized Carbona changed the color of the bottle from yellow to white. When it was yellow it had a %233 on it meaning Carbona %233. On the white bottle the %233 is missing, it just says for Ink/ Marker/ Crayon. I assume the product is still the same. **As I said, it is not Plug %26 Play. The Carbona will only remove a certain amount of Ink by itself but I think it does act to loosen the rest of the ink so it can be removed by other means.
