I have a teenager who lives on this stuff. I feel good about that, because he is a picky eater and the nutritional mix of this product is actually really good. He makes the shakes himself, and it's one thing I don't have to worry about. It lasts forever in the cupboard, so when we start to run low at my house, I buy five our six more containers at a time. My only complaint is that Walmart doesn't always protect it enough for shipping, so somethings the packages of shake mix bust open during transit and it makes a big mess. For that reason, I always order this product by itself and have it shipped separately. That way, I don't have to wash the powder off anything else in the carton.

It's really good on its own with just milk or added to a smoothie with some milk and peanut butter It adds extra vitamins. The vanilla kind I mix with a little thing of yogurt and a cup of milk, throw it in the blender and it's a perfect smoothie in the morning for kids who don't want to eat breakfast before school. has lots of vitamins and things that kids need for a good start to the day.

I use this at night to make cocoa before bed. It helps me sleep well after a long day or a tough workout. Slightly less sweet than traditional hot cocoa powders, but full of vitamins and minerals that help your body recover and rest well. It started as a joke, like the American version of horrlicks from Call the Midwife, but it's become its own thing now. We all swear by it. This really makes the best hot cocoa before bed. We've tried the vanilla hot and that's pretty good, but the chocolate served hot is even better. We call it “essentials cocoa” just to differentiate from regular, boring cocoa. lol

I have Lung cancer and Chronic Kidney Disease. Dr recommended Boost or something similar. But I found the price was more to my budget by buying the Carnation Breakfast Essentials, and the vitamins were even better than some of the other “brands” that are generally recommended for seniors.

oh my I hadn't tried this in a long time and long time ago came in the little packets but oh man this thing will spoil me I was mixing it in with other drinks for you know pulverize eyes and a bunch of stuff together and throwing that into an ingredient

I drink the chocolate flavored instant breakfast. I'm diabetic. It's my chance to get my chocolate fix without drive by my sugar crazy! I do use whole milk. This is my only splurge so to speak, as I really stay on top of what I eat otherwise. This is a quick way to get my breakfast and my sweet fix at the same time without going overboard. I love the taste!

I tried this a few times in the 80s and 90s and didn't care that much for it. I had recent digestion issues and had to drink a lot of meals instead of eating. I expected this to not be so good. It was delicious. I put milk in a large glass, add the powder on top and stir. It really mixes well. No grit, and again: Very good taste.

I drank these exact carnation drinks when I was a child every morning for breakfast. I'm someone who has always had a bit of morning time nausea, so being able to drink something and still get the nutrients I need is extremely helpful. The taste of this is great and it really does fill you up. Now, I have a three year old daughter of my own and she often drinks this as “chocolate milk” in the morning time ;)

I like the Vanilla best, but the chocolate is good, too... I mix it with oat milk usually, and sometimes almond milk... I'd give it 5 stars if it had a little less sugar, because it is plenty sweet... I just add more milk to dilute the sweetness %26 it's perfect... I'd rather have too much real sugar than any type of artificial sweetener... this is also good to mix your Miralax into if you use that...

My only complaint is that the item needs to be packaged better for shipping. Two times now I have received the product that during shipping was opened and contents spilled all in the shipping box on my other items. Better packaging at the shipping depot needs to take place.
