Nice small size to carry along and simple to use. Takes only an AA battery to run the light and it's easy to replace. Does great magnification of things flat on a surface.
Look no further! If trichomes are what you wish to view, this little gadget gets you up close %26 personal. Awesome device, worth every penny and then some!
I bought this for my young niece as a present for Christmas. Unfortunately, the high power of this 'scope made it a little difficult for her to use and the extreme detail of what she was seeing wasn't as interesting as it was to the adults at our party. I kept it and have been having a lot of fun with it. I can't count how many times I've said, "Oh wow!" while looking through. Overall, you get your money's worth and then some. It was so impressive, that my friend's wife bought him one for his birthday a few days later. He's already posted photos of salt and sugar. And my niece? I got her the lesser power Carson MM-24 'scope, with the slides and built-in slide holder.
This is a really nice pocket scope for the money. The aspherical lens really makes a difference. The view is clear to the edge of view. After seeing this one, I am also going to buy the lower powered pocketmicro mm-450 which also has an aspherical lens. This item seems a cut above similarly priced magnifiers.
Great little scope great price delivered and pick up on time. In order to get the best results you must have the item being examined on a firm steady surface. To examine a plant a piece of the plant needs to be cut in order to get best results
I expected some magnification, but not as much as was offered by this tiny pocket microscope. I opened one to see what they could do before giving them to kids in the family. I could see sweat droplets on my skin once I figured out how to adjust the lens to see clearly. That led to other fun discoveries with different fabric types and a leaf. However, unless you want the nasty truth revealed, do not look at your area rug or doormats with this! To be fair, a science experiment in housekeeping ensued in which the carpet was cleaned and the nastiness level impressively reduced. The kids who got these as a stocking stuffer are 5 and 8 and they figured them out quickly as well. Their dad and mom also appreciated how well they work at every level of magnification. Overall, I'd give it a 4.8 since it takes a bit of playing with it initially to figure out how to coordinate your eye with the eyepiece for the best field of vision, but beyond that learning curve, this is a great science tool for kids and a (mostly) fun experience for adults who like exploring with their kids.
Great for checking trichomes
