CHI Lava Iron, Lava-Infused Ceramic Soleplate, 13130

I was a little cautious about buying this iron because I usually buy Rowenta. It was on sale for a great price and had good reviews, so I figured I'd try it. I was not disappointed. It irons beautifully, and the steam power is great.

I had a Chi iron and it quit on me after aprox 4 yrs :-( then I really missed it so I order the retracible cord 13102 model and did not like that model compared to my older model of 13101. it is also too heavy! plus problems right away. It started giving me problems right away, the heat didn't stay to right temp then it started making a pop sound so I called the company and they said to return it, this is not normal. I then had the same problem, I needed a quality iron. I ordered this model 13104 and I love it, it is not as heavy as the 13102 and keeps it's temp so again, I am very happy :-) I even got it is less then 24 hrs via house delivery thank you walmart :-)

Fast heating, light weight with a very narrow point. Quite useful when ironing seams on quilting projects Have not used the steam feature as I spray my projects with water or starch, but I'm sure steam will work as well as everything else. Cord is long and swivels

I was able to use this iron at a recent quilt retreat, and I was so impressed with how well it worked that I ordered one right away to be sent to my home. A couple other quilters also purchased this iron.

I'm a quilter I also do alterations and some sewing of garments I like a lot of steam and I like the iron to be hot as appropriate for the Garment. this thing has a really long cord that heats up quick gets good and hot and puts out a ton of steam. I'm very happy with it I used the German one for many years and the last one I got was from Germany and it leaked like an sob after about a year. so that one went to the thrift store. these are great irons I never had one with the lava plate and is just because I wanted to try it. I really like the sharp point when you're doing collars or small seams on a quilt.

Never heard of this brand but it was highly rated on various websites. Price was more than I wanted spend but I need a very hot steam iron that doesn't leak and has a longer automatic shut off time than my previous irons. So far this iron has met my expectations and is worth the price. I've owned this Chi for less than 2 months, use it at least 4 days/week and hope it will last much longer than my last 2 irons, Rowentas that failed in under 3 yrs of use.

This iron is amazing! I haven't had this brand before. The steam is really powerful. You can hear the sound of it. It is a simple iron with so many advantages. It is very good at ironing men's shirts. I loved it.

This is the second time that we have purchased this brand for our iron. The first hand which was purchased several years ago is heavier than this one. Otherwise the iron is sufficient.

This iron is the best quality iron we have ever owned. We have owned other CHI products (straightener, etc.) and they have always been of the highest quality. That means styling, durability of construction, and operation. I think for the price this iron is a bargain. First of all, you can tell when you remove it from the packaging, that it is made of durable materials. Just the feel of the handle in your hand tells you that. It is not too heavy or light, but just right. Every feature of this iron was well thought out. The sole plate is ceramic and very smooth. The shape of the tip is so that it can get into tight places on your clothes. The controls are clear and easy to grab onto. There are various settings for different fabrics (as on most irons) that are easy to select using the big knob. The steam amount is set by a toggle switch under the front of the handle. It could be easier to get to, but is not really that big of an inconvenience. The buttons for spray and steam are right next to each other with no separation – this can make them easy to confuse when using and you have to look for while to get used to it. The iron heats up quick and lights up when plugged in. It also has an auto off feature if you forget to unplug. The iron is easy to fill without spilling the water thanks to the hole design. The fill hole cover also closes securely. The only feature I miss is a retractable power cord, but this feature on other appliances does not always work correctly. Overall, we love this iron (still do not love the task of ironing though!).
