This is a staple in our household! It has just the right kick of spicy heat to keep things interesting. We have tried others in the past but always come back to this brand. it has a pretty bottle, nice artwork, it pours consistently without clogging up or being too runny. We love it! Give it a try! 10/10
I have used all the different blends and have never been disappointed in any of them. most every mexican restaurant that I have been to has had it on the table. I started buying it when I lived in Texas 35 years ago. one of the best tasting and dependable sauce I have ever tasted.
I used to like Tabasco sauce, but once I found Cholula I haven't looked back. It has actual flavor instead of just heat. It works especially well on top of pot roast with mashed potatoes, gravy and sour cream. You can virtually put it on any savory dish. Really good on sandwiches too.
America's Test Kitchen Julia did not like this but they tested it incorrectly. They put it in a small bowl and the testers took a sip with a spoon. No. This is a vinegar based hot sauce? It is meant to ALWAYS be shaken then put on food directly (like hot sauce!) If it is not done this way, the solids rise and you get… vinegar! So with that nonsense out of the way: I have been looking for a hot sauce that was not too hot and not too mild. This one fits the bill. But SHAKE IT before use! Also, the ONLY way to test a hot sauce is to sprinkle it on an unsalted tortilla chip. Period.
Thanks Cholula for allowing me try out your original hot sauce! I actually liked the flavor profile of this hot sauce compared to other hot sauces, it's not overly too sour or spicy at all, just a nice balance of flavors with a bit of heat. I used it for my breakfast where I made some scrambled eggs with chorizo and this sauce had elevated my scrambled eggs and added a nice Mexican flavor with a bit of spiciness to it that was really nice and enjoyable.
I've tried a lot of hot sauces over the years, and Cholula is still one of my favorites. It has the perfect balance of flavor and heat—spicy enough to add a kick without overpowering your food. The flavor is rich, slightly smoky, and tangy, which makes it great on everything from eggs and tacos to pizza and breakfast potatoes. If you're looking for a hot sauce that enhances your meal instead of just making it painfully hot, Cholula is definitely worth keeping in your kitchen.
Cholula has been a staple in our house for years. It doesn't have that vinegar base that so many of the others do, which I personally cannot stand. Cholula is hot, but not so hot that it ruins the flavor of the food. It has a nice kick that actually adds flavor to the meal. It's great by itself with chips too!
This is my favorite hot sauce. It is not too hot and not too mild. I've been purchasing this item from Walmart for years and not once did I get a damaged glass bottle. I came across many complaints from Sellers on Amazon so I will only purchase from Walmart. They wrap these bottles in a paper mesh material and the price is much lower than in the supermarkets.
This is the best hot sauce we have ever had in the past several years. The added flavor to our tex-mex meals and making of spicy mayo for sandwiches and burgers can't be beat. The style of the bottle and wooden cap all add to the flavor. Unless you can find this hot sauce on sale in the regular grocery stores, Walmart prices are the least and most consistent.
I called about this delivery %26 the rep said I should repackage %26 return. This was a soaking mess. I just wanted the one broken bottle replaced. It took 20 minutes to clean up this mess and the boxes were destroyed. Was I supposed to go out to a moving store %26 buy a new box, then repackage in bubble wrap, then stand in line at the post office to return 11 out of 12 bottles? I told her I'd rinse %26 keep the 11 soaked bottles and I just wanted them to send me one unbroken one. She couldn't do it, even after admitting she would not want to go through this experience herself. Was so frustrated I had to hang up while waiting to speak to a manager. What an inconvenience. Not to mention the delivery person took a picture for proof of delivery showing the unsoaked side of the box. Tough to deal with,.
