I use these eal 22 on a daily basis did i mention how great they are. They provide much light to get the job done and if its not quite bright enough then take off the lens cover and you have a lantern on a whole new level. Used in dark rooms, around the ranch, birthing animals is great with much needed light in some adverse conditions. During monsoons when we lose power. Thank you coast for developing a lantern that provides much needed light without breaking the bank, and i always use the zx1010 rechargeable batteries.
So I've been a coast fan for years, I believe my first lite was a pdx. I was a trucker for 35 years and was always in the market for a better flashlight. My wife brought one home for a christmas present. I've probably got every model they make a few times over now. The small simple design was such a blessing unloading or throwing chains in the winter. Pre tripping was just so much netter at night with the power and dependability of these fit in your pocket lites. I began buying these as christmas presents for friends and family. They have become a cherished companions. When you need lite they are always dependable. The big heavy days of mag lites were over years ago for me. I am now trying out their rechargable lines and fell in love with a 400r. It was becoming a favorite . The charging was long lasting and it was super light. But i couldn't finish running it through its paces as i lost it up at indian henry csmpgrounds. Went back twice to try and find it but some lucky bum got a real fine flashlite. As coast comes out with the new products I try em and then decide which ones are next on santas list. I have 12 granbabies and they all love playing with these flashlites. Not one of them have ever succumbed to the abuse that kids put em thru. These lantern lites are beautifully designed and super bright. They have low ,med, high and red steady and flashing mode. I like the red for night time camping and of course the flashing will be handy in the case of an accident ect. I cant swear for their durability yet , its too soon but ill know first vamp trip with the kids. We might use them on the kayaks for visibility. These products will surely meet the high bar that coast is famous for. I live in sandy oregon and am lucky that I can drop by their facility . The people are great, warm and helpful. They stand absolutely behind their products. If your a first time buyer, I say go for it ,you won't regret it. Makes shopping for christmas easy too. But let me warn ya , you'll want more then one. They really are that good.
A great lantern perfect for camping, night time remote work or any place where you need more light.
Great quality lantern and great price.
Outstanding Performance and very well made. Lots of great features.
I bought one of these lights for camping. Before I got a chance to use it for it's intended purpose we had a power outage. My wife started gathering the smaller lights and some candles we keep in the house for outages short enough that makes it not worth the effort to set up the generator. I got the EAL22 out and it worked perfectly. I was so impressed I bought 2 more, one to keep in the home emergency kit and one to give to my son. The battery life is amazing as is the variable intensity of the light. It has definitely replaced gas lanterns in my kit.
We just bought a second one. Great for camping or in case of emergencies. The light on low is good for small rooms and high works well for large outdoor areas. Being able to take the diffuser off gives more options on focusing the light or bouncing the light off of the ceiling, which usually works better for lighting up rooms. I do not know exactly how long the battery lasts since it has not died on us during an outing, this includes weekend camping and day long power outages.
EAL22 lantern is an amazing portable light source it's easy set up either D batteries or like me got the rechargeable battery. 3 levels of brightness and has a flashing red light. bought 4 of them 2 for in the house in case of a storm and we loss power and keep 1 in each of are automobile's…use it walking my dog's in the woods.
It is not a rechargeable lantern as advertised, you have to then buy the rechargeable D batteries which they try to now sell you. Of course we can go buy rechargeable batteries, that does not mean the lantern is rechargeable like it states in the item description. Misleading
I bought this Lantern because of its dual power option prior to the possible hurricane the next day. I was extremely disappointed to find out that the rechargeable battery was an upgrade option that you had to purchase separately on the manufacturer's website. Not only was the rechargeable battery NOT INCLUDED, but I didn't buy the 3 D batteries because they never said the rechargeable battery was sold separately. At a price of $30 this is a definite pass.
