Coleman Portable Water Heater

I moved to an off grid cabin that has no running water. This hot water heater with shower is just what we needed. The 2 of us only use 5 gallons of water for a shower. This item is lower cost than some other options which is important to us.

I have put 30 gallons of water through this just to test it. It performed flawlessly. The battery had enough charge left for at least 10 gallons more of water. Same for the propane bottle. I had no leaks anywhere. Just have to take a little time putting it together. No you can't turn the water flow off but that's no big problem. If it is for you a ball valve and return line fixes that very simply. People need to look at the listing better. There are two different models. There is an A model and a B model. With the A model you get the AC plug with it and the B model you don't. The A model has a digital display and the B uses lights. The A model has an adjustable shower head and the B doesn't. All the safety features and everything else are exactly the same. The A model has been just recently discontinued. Do the maintenance they recommend and this water heater will heat many showers for you. My first one I gave to my daughter this year has had over 1,000 gallons of water through it and still functions like new. Take care of it and it will work well for many years.

When it's charged and works for about 5 minutes it's great. Although here are a few things that really irritate me about it. The battery only lasts 5 minutes before it needs to be recharged. We didn't figure this out until we were on our 2 week long trip up the coast. We ended up solving this by using the dc plug and a power bank to run the pump while we needed extra time. The temperature setting is very misleading. When you start it and turn it on. Don't even think about turning it past the minimum setting. It will overheat and shut off the pump and flame. There's no way to shut off the pump while also turning off the heater. So if you're showering and trying to conserve water it's near impossible without having to relight your heater. Kinda dumb. Overall the water does does really hot fast.

Please to every other shopper out there please know that this item does not come with a ac adapter its nit the cirrect series? AND ALSO KNOW EVERYONE THAT THEY SHIP THE ITEM WITH A NON FOLDABLE WATER CONTAINER MEANING THAT WHEN THEY PACK THIS THE WATER STORAGE WILL HAVE HOLES IN IT BECAUSE OF THE FOLDING OF A STORAGE CONTAINER..

This unit is a good idea but fall very short of ones needs out of the box. It only comes with a 12 volt power cord. I couldn't find a 120 ac power cord so I had to buy a 120 to 12 volt converter. The internal battery won't last very long so it need to be plug in all the time. The water container reservoir is cheaply made and leaks a good amount of your water. You have no control to turn on and off the water at the spray handle so if you want to use it as a shower, you have to have someone outside to turn the pump on and off so you will have enough water. The price of this unit makes it a very poor choice for your dollars. Coleman could make this a better unit for very little additional costs.

Bad purchase. The shower hose is too short to use in a shower inclosure with the unit outside where it is required to be. This unit does not come with a battery charger. It does come with a cigarette lighter adaptor cord, that runs your car battery down because it takes 6 hours or more to charge. I had to charge 24hrs. to get full charge. This is the stripped model (2302-B) . If you really need this hand held shower buy the advanced model (2302-A). it comes with an AC adapter/charger, a system on-off switch for safety, USB charging ports, system lights that show you condition of your battery charge, an electric starter, and a shower wand that is adjustable. When I went to the Coleman website they did not show any other model. The AC adapter is a big deal because I can't use electrical outlets to run or charge the unit. It doesn't tell you the type of adapter you need to buy to use on the unit either in the manual or on their website. 12v adapters come in different charging outputs ranging from 4.5 volts to 12volts . For the price of $300.00 this unit should have eveything you need to run and comfortably use anywhere you go. I am very disappointed with Coleman who has been my primary go-to outdoor equipment company for over 50 years. Now it seems they just want to nickle and dime you for equipment add-ons like other conglomerate corporations just so they can maximize profit margins, instead of quality products at a fair price.

It doesn't work. Returned but had to pay the shipping back!! I might break even... Pilot light just never stayed on. Water jug/Tank leaked and never got tight enough. There isn't a button on the "shower" part to stop the flow. It just siphoned out the entire 5 gallons. There is only a car charger. No shore power cord. It has a battery but no electronic ignition!?!? Very disappointed

This was the worst purchase I have ever made, the heater shuts down after the pilot is fired and it's turned to the heating position. There is water pressure, full battery, and full tank of gas (no gas leaks)

I bought the Coleman portable water heater, charged it up and took it on my trip to a very remote lake in Ontario, Canada. It would not stay on for more than about 5 seconds. I tried recharging it and it would do the same. I had one of these units years ago and it worked great but this one was a dud and very disappointing as I used a 62 degree lake to shower every night and I packed it all the way in with fuel.

Got this water heater with high expectations. Then returned it. It won't heat cold tap water higher than 86.5F (30C). That's barely luke warm, not hot enough for dishes and certainly not hot enough for a shower. Manufacturer claims 113-120F, but in fine print it says the water needs to be over 60F to attain 113F. My water was 54F and never got over 86.5F. Even tried a fresh bottle of propane. Very disappointed.
