I like it a lot. It doesn't leak and seems pretty strong. The flow was dreadfully slow, so I ran a 5/16" end mill through the opening and now the flow is as one would expect.
I use these to age aquarium water. Compact storage when not in use.
Larger capacity container is nice for use in-camp. Double handle is helpful in carrying when full. Sturdy, and packs down nicely for transport. Spigot is well constructed and does not leak.
I bought this as part of my home emergency kit and it is what it is a cheaper water carrier. It is worth the $9 (rounded up) and I might be buying more. Just the tube is on the bottom, but that makes it easier to get the water out of. If you need a water carrier, I recommend you buy this one.
Heavy duty construction. The spout is a little tricky but with practice you'll get a decent flow. Due to the nature of water, the vessel itself does not stand on it's own well but needs bracing or a fixed area to remain in place. Other than that, it meets all my camping needs
This collapsible water carrier is a good idea, in theory. This water carrier is too rigid overall. The handles are molded hard plastic, the rest of the bottle is like a flimsy plastic water bottle. The way it's made, the corners bend too much and will leak very quickly. This water carrier would've been amazing if it was completely flexible. I would've preferred a big water bag as opposed to this.
after filling this 5 gallon with 5 gallons exactly and putting the cap or spigot back on, i proceeded to pick it up and had to grab it with the other handle as well and almost wished I had another hand to put underneath of it as it felt like it was going to rip right out from underneath my hands.
This item was returned for a refund. I camp regularly and a lot of my gear is from Coleman and I usually love their products, that being said this needs improvement. The plastic overall is treat quality, the handles on two sides for me was a plus and the handles are also good quality. That is all this water jug had going for it. I took off and adjusted this spigot so many times during my camping trip that by the 3rd day I gave up and had enough room in another container to pour the remaining water from this into it and be done with this thing. It was just slow and steady to leak around the threading, not the actual spigot. I kept adjusting and working on it because I thought maybe I had not gotten it screwed on tight enough, then maybe it was too tight and the gasket twisted up in it. Nope, nothing, just the frustration of having the table under this jug wet multiple times.
Leaks out of the box. Constantly. The valve leaks no matter what position it is in. The jug is not vented either so water trickles out. I had an old one I bought in the '80's that lasted for decades. No leaks ever. Gave it away thinking I could buy another one when I needed it. Guess not. How hard would it be to put a vent on this thing like a plastic gas jug? It would then flow water at least. How hard is it to make a water can that doesn't leak and pours? Coleman has gotten beyond cheap with this product. Junk.
It's fine if all you need to do is transport water. Unfortunately, I bought two of these and when tipped on it's side, it leaks until there is nothing left.
