I like the grill for its 20,000 BTU rating -- the heat is ample for grilling meat and veggies on skewers. I understand that it doesn't come with a piezo igniter, but it's not a deal breaker for me. It may be difficult to turn the heat down for slow cooking. Again, that doesn't bother me either. On the up side, it's easy to clean; the built-in wind screens work well; and it's nice to have a pot on one side and a grill on the other. The heat may be uneven -- just keep moving your meats around. All in all, a good product that works for me.
This is a great gas stove/grill combination, been using Coleman products for years camping and this is very useful on camping trips. The product listing is wrong though, it is the same as the one in the stores that says 20,000 btu on the box or else I would have gotten the one in the store. They could not verify it was the same item even though it looked the same because the one online says 10,000 btu. But when I received the item it stated 20,000 btu on the box and was in fact the same identical one as on the store shelf but $20 less.
It's a really nice grill for camping and even at home. Many nice features and a few flaws that are easily overcome with some care. Some of it's best features are: - grills fast and cooks well, burgers are easy to make broiled on the outside and pink inside - even heat distribution throughout whole grill area - heats up quick requiring only a minute to warm up the grill - great flare control, nothing ever drips onto the burner tube - very strong pot burner, boils water quickly, but hard to control at low settings - overall good build, it's sturdy and nicely finished, and light weight And some of its flaws are: - very exposed control knobs can be easily bumped and leave burners open - pot support rack doesn't sit perfectly flat - propane intake is near rear, forcing the propane bottle towards the back instead of side of stove - the grill grate is easily scratched when cleaning with a metal grill brush - pot burner is difficult to set to a low setting, my older grill has super fine control - plastic feet slide too easily on most surfaces Some useful tips: - use aluminum foil to line the bottom of the grill to catch drips - unplug the tank & regulator when not in use to avoid possible leaks - hand wash the grill grate to keep it clean and reduce odors when stored - install stick-on rubber feet instead of the slippery plastic feet The photo shows the grill after using it six times. The foil underneath keeps the bottom clean and plugs the drip hole at the bottom. It's neater to just replace the foil after each use. Works perfect every time!
I like this one because you can both grill and cook other things at the same time, like soup or whatever. I tried it out, and it is super easy to light and I would feel confident taking it out on the road and using it.
I took it to a sandbar and camped. On the lowest setting for the range and the grill, i had bacon and eggs in 5 minutes. There is some good non stick coating on the grill too
I'm going on my first camping trip and bought this Coleman Stove/Grilll. I tried grilling turkey burgers at home and it worked great. It gives a lot of heat so barely had to turn knob. Be very careful with heat adjustment. I bought the bag for it. It's very handy and easy to carry.
Great combo grill and camp stove. Newer model comes with integrated sparkler which is nice.
This is a great little camp stove. We've been camping for years from tenting to campers and now back to tenting. We've had several different Coleman stoves over the years. Coleman makes a good stove and this one is no exception. The burner on the side is a little small, but it's only me and my husband (both over 50) so it works great for us. We love having the grill part too. We take cooking spray with us and spray the grill, so the clean up is easy no matter what we cook/grill.
never tried it- returned. didn't realize until it was unpacked that you can't use grill side for pots and pans- for grilling only, which makes it of limited use. Don't remember seeing that in any reviews before my order, or in the product specifications. Found out when I unpacked and read the sticker warning on the grill itself. Otherwise the construction, etc, looked pretty standard- just wouldn't work for me. And one reviewer I read said they had cooked a meal for 7 people with this stove- looking at the stove, that's quite a feat!
It states in the description this: "The Coleman 10,000 BTU PerfectFlow Grill Stove is ideal for camping and fishing trips. You can make coffee, bake beans and vegetables, as well as cook pasta, steak, and burger using this pressure control grill stove. You can also cook eggs and pancakes using the griddle" After reading this description, we ordered this stove, under the assumption that it included a griddle for cooking pancakes and eggs...it DOES NOT INCLUDE A GRIDDLE!....and furthermore, walmart does not even sell the griddle that goes with it! So, needless to say, we were very disappointed, especially after we made the decision to pay extra shipping to have it in time for our recent camping trip. I recommend tht walmart takes this out of the description. As for the grill itself, it works fine...the latch that closes it is poorly made and pops open if you even touch the grill.
