The BEST tomato paste
Growing up in an Italian family, Contadina tomato paste was the one and only tomato paste that my grandmother would use. I don't even consider any other tomato paste.

Love this product!
We make our tomato sauces from scratch, so we depend on Contadina's products for their consistency and great taste! There are other Italian-based ingredients we will consider because of price or availability as well as Hunt's products, but given a choice, we use Contidina's products mostly. This particular size of paste is not always totally used, but it freezes in a baggy very well and does not go to waste!

Buy Big and Keep in Glass Jar to Add Umami
High quality and lasted a long time in the fridge. No tinny taste. Not the highest quality like San Marzano but clearly better than many brands. NOTE: Contadina tomato paste seems to be better quality than Contadina canned whole or crushed tomatoes, and even the sauce. Don't know why but I would rather buy the paste and add water. PURPOSE Wanted to have a jar of paste in the fridge to grab a tablespoon here and there to add flavor, sweetness, etc., to sauces. Tubes are too expensive. This paste has the deep, concentrated umami taste I wanted. Opened the can and added about a thir to a spaghetti sauce and keep the rest in a glass jar. Stayed fresh for a month. Very pleased and will re-purchase.
