Honestly, I was looking for an inexpensive way to feed the birds. Theses cakes are inexpensive. But in a week we have seen Balck Capped Chicadee, Downey Woodpecker, Eastern Peewee, Red Breasted Woodpecker and Nut Hatch feeding in Maryland in October. So they are not desperate yet as they might be in February. True there are no whole seeds in this cake, but the birds don't seem to mind.
These don't stay around for very long. The woodpeckers really, really love them as well as ALL other birds and squirrels. Excellent for attracting woodpeckers for sure. The Peanut Delight is by far the favorite, the Berry flavored is not particularly liked by any of them. I love that the peanut is no melt; it's easy to handle without that sticky residue. Will continue to buy
The usual woodpeckers of every kind and typical backyard birds eat it. But, so do pine warblers, mockingbirds, and summer tanagers. I’ve not refilled for a couple of days because I have actual peanuts that needed to be eaten. The birds prefer the Peanut Delight suet over the peanuts. So, I’ll probably give in and put more out today!
Of all the suet we have tried for the wide variety of birds who gather to eat on our deck and the balcony this is "everyone's" favorite. They almost have to "take a number" to get a turn. BUT the best part was working with one of your staff at our Coos Bay/North Bend, Oregon Walmart. Placing the order on-line was so easy (at the lowest price I found in my internet search) and the store's follow up on status was great customer service. The box arrived two days earlier than expected and ---- - the young man at the pick-up desk was one of the best parts of the process. (I wish I had gotten his name.) He handled everything seamlessly, loaded the huge, heavy box onto the shopping cart and gave me personal service to my car where he put it into the trunk. Kudos all around to the staff and service at this store. It may not be the biggest "kid on the block" but it is real asset for the community. Thank you.
This is the favorite food of the birds and squirrels in my yard. Blue jays, crows, finches and many other birds come to my hard for this. Regular bird feed leaves piles of shells on the ground and the uneaten food that drops to the ground starts to grow as unwanted plants. While some of the food drops to the ground it is minimal was as birds also eat it off the ground. This particular package is the best price I have found.
I like C%26S Peanut delight value pack because it makes it convenient for me to feed the birds that come to my yard. The no melt feature makes for easy no mess handling and because it attracts a large variety of birds that enjoy it, the value pack makes keeping my suet feeder full at all times while saving me time and money. But the fact that so many different kinds of birds enjoy eating it makes my bird watching much more enjoyable.
The birds told me to give it a five star review. I'm not so sure because I have to keep reordering. They gobble it up! But it t is very cool to look out the window and see them lined up at the suet feeders. Even guys I don't usually see there. Great product, even if it is a budget buster to feed the little freeloaders...
We have many types of birds that congregate in our yard. We have Two Suet feeders and other feeders and 3 birdbaths. The 3 types of Woodpeckers that come to the Suet are there several times a day. The Blue Birds, Cardinals, Blue Jays, Mocking Birds, Finches, and several different smaller birds also eat at the Suet Feeder. We have the Suet in a cage where the birds can eat from either side and many times there is a Woodpecker on one side and another bird on the other side. This brand and type are the best for Florida weather. We are more than happy with this brand no melt Suet.
This is usually a great brand of suet for my wild bird feeders - but this box was goopy and melted and impossible to load the feeder. I'm very unhappy with this product. Since I've used 2 of the 8 products, I didn't figure I could return it - which I would.
Used these thru winter and spring but suddenly noticed the 'new' cake I put out was 'gone'. Animals and birds did not get it. Since this cake is made of peanut butter like stuff it melts in the heat/rain. I looked on the ground and there is a puddle of the cake sitting there where it melted. Works fine in the winter, spring and fall. Not made for summer/wet conditions over 80 degrees.
