This is awesome. It keeps the coffee hot and the best part of the carafe. It's not glass. I cannot tell you how many glass carafes I've broken and had to replace the entire coffee maker because they don't sell replacements.
I prefer a thermal carafe to a glass coffee pot, to avoid that burned coffee taste. I love my Cuisinart thermal, and just bought my second one.
This is my 2nd model the 1st one exceeded the normal time. Have had dozens of brands and this so far, I bought a 2nd one just to keep as a backup even though the first one was going on 3 yrs... Very pleased. We are a couple household and husband is a big big coffee drinker.
Cuisinart 12 Cup Programmable Thermal Coffee Maker is great! This is our second one of this type. The first one lasted for 10 years, and finally died. So we bought this new one. It keeps the coffee warm for about 2-3 hours, comes on and off automatically, and MOST IMPORTANT TO ME IT TURNS ITSELF OFF.
Very stylish, stainless and love the stainless steel carafe vs a glass carafe. Uses a #4 Cone filter and they supply a couple to get you started. It also has a Bold function which I like a bolder cup of coffee. So far I am pleased with the results, quality and functions of this coffee maker/
I received this as a gift, I feel it's too heavy and I don't like that you cannot see what's left in the pot.
I bought this thinking it would keep my coffee hotter than my glass carafe coffee maker. Because the glass carafe sits on a heated element, and this does not, the glass carafe actually keeps coffee hotter than this thermal carafe. I tried preheating the thermal carafe with hot water but coffee still starts getting cold as soon as it is done making the coffee.
This coffee pot looks pretty with its stainless carafe, but the cup measurement doesn't pan out. If i make 4 cups, I get 1.5 . I need to figure out how much coffee is needed because so far I use 1 scoop (provided) per cup and it's way too strong because it actually makes fewer cups than I measure the water for.
I've had two Cuisinart thermal coffeemakers over the last 20+ years. Can't recall why the first one had to be replaced, but its replacement was an identical twin. They were perfect. We decided to get another Cuisinart coffeemaker to give some flexibility. (Older one still works.) We're disappointed in the new one: --Have to be extremely careful when pouring from the carafe--it drips as the pour begins and again afterwards if the pot isn't held very, very carefully. --When I open the top to remove the brewing basket after brewing, water spills down the back of the unit. There's a lip there to try to catch it, but the lip isn't adequate to catch the amount of water that has condensed inside the lid of the coffeemaker. This is a corrective action that doesn't get the job done. --I can no longer brew the coffee on the part of my kitchen counter that has a cabinet above--the steam from brewing is aimed straight up, so it would condense on the upper cabinet if I don't move the coffeemaker to the front of the counter. In a nutshell, this coffeemaker is so inconvenient to use compared to the model that it replaced. It does make good coffee, but it is not convenient to use.
Quality of coffee maker is good but design of coffee pot is bad! Hard to pour out of, must turn pot totally upside down to empty. A carafe shape would be much better.
