Dark Walnut, Varathane Premium Fast Dry Wood Stain-262006, Quart

I like it but it does take a long time to dry on my wood floors making the process longer than it should take

I used this to stain an outdoor pergola that is mostly in the shade. The brown color is very dark and rich - I love the color. The stain seems to be mostly for indoor application but I think it will do fine. The mixture is thin and goes on easily. I used a brush, a cloth would work also. It didn't smell as strong as I expected. I got to the end of my project and was proud of not dripping anywhere. Then, boom, quite a bit sloshed out when I carried it up the ladder - all my fault. I quickly read that cleanup was mineral spirits, I didn't have any. I didn't have any gasoline either. For some reason I thought of WD-40. It worked like a charm, even on my white tennis shoes. I would highly recommend this stain for purposes stated on the can.

Did the job perfectly

Great coverage, and shine. Does not dry in 1 hour as stated. I'm 2 hours in, and it's still wet. I would purchase again, just use earlier in the day.

This stain is TERRIBLE. Do not let them lie to you. I ordered Dark Walnut. Received Dark Walnut. Opened it, and it looked darker than anticipated. I figured it would dry lighter. No. It's basically a dusty black, with no warmth or saturation whatsoever. It is not brown at all, and it's nowhere near the color depicted on the can. On top of that, it says it's fast drying. No. It's been 24 hours and my porch is sticky. I only did one coat. Now I have a hideous dusty black porch that refused to cure in most places, and on the parts that are dry, you can see every footprint, dog hair, speck of dust, you name it. So much time, effort, and money.. wasted.

Can looks very used- splatters all around the lid, rusty metal. Not the correct color- says Dark Walnut but obviously not. I bought the same products from another store and the color is obviously different.
