I got these Deck Plus 48413 Exterior Tan Ceramic Steel Screws, Flat Head, Self-Drilling (#8, x2) t lbs a couple of weeks ago because our deck around our pool was in need of repair. These screws are perfect for that job and we are very satisfied with their use in this application.
Brand new as stated. The store does not have it but online store does. Free shipping when combined with my other items that total to $35. Save gas and time surging in the store and not to mention foot traffic, checkout line/welfare line, and importantly stress. LOL
Love these Hillman self drilling & countersinking screws. Includes free no strip bit & has limited lifetime warranty against rust or corrosion. Works with treated lumber & cedar. Top quality product, if working on a exterior wood structure or project these screws are excellent means of securing joint or decking.
These Deck Plus Exterior Ceramic Steel Screws are very nice. They come in different colors. I decided on tan. They are self-drilling. They have a flat head, which is nice. These would work nice building a deck or other outdoor structure. I've been using them to hold up hanging pots on my porch & things like that. Very strong screws!!
My husband and I used these deck screws to add on to our play set. We liked them because they blend right in with the wood and did not split the wood when we drilled them in. Great product!
They are very tough and work for purpose intended. Nice size box and natural color tan for good wood coverage. I definitely think they are reasonably priced.
These are fantastic! They seem very durable and sturdy. We've used them on a number of different projects and so far they have been impressive. We will continue to use these..
We got these deck screws because our decking boards started coming up and aging on top, so we wanted to flip the boards to get a little more life out of them. We figured we might as well screw them so the nails don't pull back out again and it will be easier when we do ultimately replace the board all together. These screws are great for decks but keep in mind they are not recommended for marine applications. They also aren't recommended where ice removal chemicals are used. Stainless steel is best used in those applications. We got the two inch screws since we were using 5/4 decking board that is actually one inch thick. They seemed to have enough bite but i might go with the 2 1/4 inch next time just to be sure. The screws themselves are measured from the tip of the screw to the top of the tapered head. They have a groove cut into the thread so that they start screwing into the wood easily. The box included a short T25 Torx bit that would fit in the end of a locking extension. I wouldn't recommend a magnetic extension as the bit will keep pulling out, but if that's all you have it will work. It's also a good idea to get a couple extra T25 bits in case you lose the one they give you. It's best to get impact rated bits but as long as they are hardened it will be fine. One thing to keep in mind when screwing at the end of the board is to keep between 3/4 of an inch to 1 inch away from the edge and angle the screw slightly so that you hit the framing underneath. If your nails are starting to pop up like ours were go ahead and do yourself a favor and get these screws, you won't regret it.
These screws are fine, just regular screws, I thought, but it turns out they aren't a Phillips head, it's a star shape. It comes with a bit that you can use but it wasn't what I was expecting and nowhere on the box or anywhere else was anything noticeable saying it was a different kind of head. Otherwise it's a typical screw.
I used the deck plus exterior tan ceramic steel screws to fix my deck and I was very disappointed in these screws. They kept breaking every time I would screw them into the wood. They come with their own attachment for a drill. I would not recommend these screws.
