I have been purchasing my pool needs from this company for years. I purchase both my open and close kits, pool cover, solar cover, leaf cover, shock and pool toys. I did have a problem with a solar cover years ago and it was replaced immediately.

Always work with usually just what is in the package. I have used Doheny products for many years always with great results. The ease of ordering online and getting it usually next day is fantastic service.

Very strict return policy and vague chemical instructions. Do not buy this pool starter pack unless you are 100% sure you will keep it. Because it contains shock, the seller will not allow returns or refunds at all—even on a completely unopened, sealed box, which in my case was the situation because I no longer needed it. On top of that, the chemical instructions are terrible for smaller pools. It tells you to use the entire bag (which covers up to 4,400 gallons), but gives no instructions on how to safely proportion it for a smaller 10 ftx30 ft (1,800-gallon) pool. Bad policy and vague instructions. For reference, dumping a full 1 lb bag of shock (standard size) into an 1,800-gallon pool will spike your chlorine levels way too high and could bleach or damage your liner. The standard rule of thumb for regular pool shock is about 2 ounces (by weight) per 1,000 gallons. It seems dangerous especially to your skin.

I used the kit as it said my pool stayed green when I contacted dohenys was told to get more algaecide! Really I was super disappointed not ever buying or referring anyone again
