I have not used it yet but I did test it out with my drill it has a lot of get up and go I can't wait to us in the lake. No vibrations nice and smooth a must for any raft or canoe trip
Lots of fun! The only negative is that you have to hold it in the water facing backwards to use it. It puts out way more thrust than I was expecting so I'm going to try and make a mount for it on the back of the boat.
Once you figure out how to steer with the drill paddle it is awesome, keep it toward the rear of kayak behind a shoulder and it is a breeze to use. No speed records but I can go extra extra far in my kayak with it. I used a hyper tough 20v lithium cordless drill and one battery gets me over a mile on the water. It pushes my kayak and all my fishing gear easily.
Did what it was supposed to do only thing I didn't realize was the arm power to keep the propeller down in the water when. When you use the drill the force of the propeller moving in the water pushes it up. But other than that really enjoy it and have recommended to family who have also purchased
Works very well from my inflatable kayak. When I reverse the drill, I can put the propeller in front and PULL instead of push the kayak. Carried an extra battery but didn't need it. You can also move it side to side... very versatile. Only one suggestion: manufacturer should add some MOUNTING hardware to the shaft for more fixed set up. Then I can use only one hand.
Poor quality ,shaft bends too easily which makes the whole thing wobble
Unit does have excessive vibration. Flotation installed on the unit will not float if a drill is attached to it. I sent the company an email 2 weeks ago asking about a replacement propeller. I have not heard back.
Does push the boat but unit wobbles as it runs causing extra hand fatigue. Bought a replacement unit, does the same thing. Apparently quality not terrific but I will keep it anyway.
Does not at all work as advertised.. Will absolutely NOT stay in my drill.. considering sending it back unless i can get this to work with my ryobi... Ridiculously hard to control when its actually trying to do what its suppose to.. Did i get a dud? Sucks.. hard pass
Please dont buy! i bought one and within 3 days i returned it... Its why to long and heavy for a drill, meaning when you spin it. it shakes so bad it becomee losen in the drill so you would have to tighten your drill every 5 mins. Plus its so hard to steer. If you have a inflatable raft for 1 person, it will be perfect.
