Energy saver

Moeroe September 5, 2016

My patio doors have drafty spots so I will be putting this up soon as September is here already. It goes up easily, it's transparent, and keeps out all the drafts making the room much more comfortable. I was quite pleased with Walmarts fast and free shipping.

Cost-saving

Creos November 7, 2016

This is a two person operation highly suggested. I like this product much better because it's heavy duty film. The film does insulate from drafty windows when installed properly. If this is your first time using the product, definitely watch YouTube for instructions. Also use alcohol to finish the cleaning process of your surface to prep for the tape. That does make a difference. This is my second time using the film and I really like it. Saves me money on heating costs and it lasts all season. From time to time, you may have to apply new tape to corners but you have extra on the roll for that. I have two cats who are window watchers and neither has attempted to scratch the film off. So be weary with feline pets.

Excellant value

Bluejayar November 13, 2016

Material is of heavier construction and take just slightly longer to heat-shrink out the wrinkles. Put it on day after purchase. This is the fourth time I have used similar products, but no one as heavy duty as the Duck brand appears to be.

This a easy fix for drifty windows and it is clear so you will not miss what the neighbors are doing. And saves on the energy bill.

Heavy Duty Shrink Fim Window Kit

JstMe February 1, 2017

Go Walmart!! This was very heavy plastic and was a total breeze to apply to your windows. It actually takes more time to measure your window and clean the frames than it does to apply. It shrunk to a tight fit and I am so pleased that I ordered one for a drafty back door!!

Thick plastic creates a good barrier and is easy to use. Seems to be working well. I always get extra tape in case of screw ups. This kind is better than the regular, thinner version and better than the pre-taped roll- on version. (Pre-taped doesn't stick well.)

This will work to cover three windows as long as they are not taller than 5 ft.

Duck Heavy-Duty Shrink Film Window Kit, 3pk

Momonlin February 16, 2014

First just let me say I like the site-to-store process. Product is a little thicker than the regular but not by a lot. It is very easy to install. Just follow enclosed directions and you'll have no problems. Second year using this product on a drafty porch. Really helps.

So much better and easier then the roll on- you apply the tape and it stays in place, cut plastic, stick and seal. Had bought the roll on but it wouldn't stick, kept falling off- returned and got the regular packs with the folded sheets, huge problem solved- to anyone thinking about the roll on, don't they don't work.

Duck Brand Heavy-Duty Shrink Film Window Kit

sourdough June 7, 2016

I have a 10-year-old manufactured home with obsolete vinyl slider windows with bad weather stripping (not replaceable) in SW WA State. When the winter rains/winds slam into the windows from the SSW direction the rain drives through the window screens and into the slider channels and runs over onto the interior window sills. My wife would worry so much about it that she would get up a couple of times during the night to mop it up with cloth towels. I came up with the idea of fabricating new screens from frame kits and installing the standard Duck .07 mil film over the screen before installing the splines, heat shrinking the film, and then anchoring the splines and film with 2" wide clear plastic packaging tape. It worked great to eliminate the water problem, but that film only lasts for 2 winters at most, and then I have to re-do them. The problem seems to be that the UV from sunlight makes the film brittle and it almost seems to "shatter" (for lack of a better term) at a certain point. I realize that this is not an application for which the product was intended and it being used outdoors rather than indoors, I am hoping that the heavy-duty (1.5 mil) film will last longer. At any rate, it only takes a couple of hours to replace the old film with new film for 4 large screens (48" x 24") and it is pretty cheap water infiltration insurance for us. If you try this, be aware that the heat-shrinkage of the plastic will bow in the longitudinal centers of the aluminum frames (no longer 90 degree square), and I had to add scrap pieces of frame as horizontal braces to eliminate this. Jim
