I tried four different antenna amplifiers and this one was the best for the lowest price. It pulled in the most channels with the strongest signal. None of the other amplifiers I tried even came close. This was also the lowest priced of all the ones I tried.
I have two antennas. A homemade bidirectional and a db8e I purchased from Walmart. The two antennas connect into a dual grounding block then into a coupler then out to the EASDISTAMP25GX amp and out of that into a splitter then out to two TV sets. I tried it without the amp and did a channel scan. I picked up about 47 over the air stations. I added the amp and did another scan. It added another 16 channels. Also some channels that wasn't strong (screen was pixelated) became stable. Good amp for the price.
I needed a replacement for an old signal amplifier that stopped working to receive HDTV over that air using a 4-bay UHF antenna. This one works better than the one replaced. The FM Trap wasn't needed so the amp works better with the Trap set to "Out". Note that the plug is an AC adapter and not a straight plug as shown in the picture which wasn't an issue for me. I'm 20-25 miles from the stations and receive every channel without a problem.
This signal amplifier met my expectations, and then some. I'm 35-50 miles from the towers which broadcast and send local channels, plus the SW PA hilly terrain is anything but conducive to good reception. But this amp proved its worth with 1-to-3 signal bar gains on average, plus it pulled in additional channels with no other changes. This amp is well-made, though larger in size than it probably needs to be. That said, thanks to this product, I finally have a decent over-the-air signal I can live with.
I can't tell you what improvement the amplifier made on its own, because I combined it with the GE Attic Mount antenna from WalMart.com and installed them together at the same time. I am now getting MANY more channels than I did with my amplified "rabbit ear" antenna before (and it was even a brand new design one). I din't know if it was the amplifier or the attic antenna (which I have hanging from a thin wire from the ceiling above my TV instead of up in the attic), but this combination is working excellent here in Jacksonville, FL.
Have 3 tv's downstream from my Directv receiver Could only get one at a time to properly function. Placed this amp after the receive but before the splitter and now all tv's can be on at the same time and function perfectly. One tv is next to the receiver but the other two are 40-50' away. Just too far for the signal to be clear apparently. Recommend.
This product seemed to provide somewhat of a stronger signal, than the passive amp built-in to my indoor antenna. I noticed a sharper video, with much more brilliant colors on all channels. Don't expect to obtain additional channels than those which you are already receiving, however.
25 dB is just about right for a tv amp. The unit works fine. I would strongly suggest it be used at ground level rather than next to the antenna itself. You want easy replacement on any item where the antenna itself is not accessible easily in the dead of winter. Won't see the best advantage of the unit until spring when we put the antenna on a roof. Suspect a rotator might help. Have a really nice distribution of free tv channels in the area. A distribution amp should pickup all of Cincinnati and Columbus as well if it is high enough. The amp should make the difference with a long cable. A lot depends on the antenna used and how high you can get it.
I have an 18db gain distribution amp. I bought this 25db gain distribution amp and the reception did improve a little bit, but since it was not worth the money spent, I returned it. If you don't have a distribution amp and you are using a splitter, I'd strongly recommend using a distribution amp.
I bought this to boost some channels after I suddenly lost some over the air channels. I figured my current amp had died after 15 years. I swapped it with this one, and had the same issue. I went up to my attic and moved the antenna, which had been in the same place for years when I was trying to get analog channels. When I was done, my old amp helped pull in more of the hard to get channels. It did help overall vs no amp. I'm keeping it around as a spare.
