I used the 42 x 63 white curtain panels in windows measuring 33 x 63 with oval tension rods to hang them. I only used one panel per window. They work very well for white blackout panels. The backing is dark gray, which is no problem for me but may be a problem if your residence absolutely requires white backed curtains. I attached a picture showing the effectiveness at 10 am on a bright winter morning. I also attached a picture showing the gray backing. I am pleased with the panels and am purchasing more for other windows.
When we first built our home we decided to go without any window treatment as we built at the back of our property by the woods. That theory lasted until the security light was mounted and you could do a manicure while laying in the bed at midnight with the lights off. Then came the process of indecision.... blinds, curtains, drapes? As a Spark Reviewer when these options came open I was delighted. I chose these to try. After receiving I did have to wait to get the rod to hang it with but the difference was immediately noticeable my sleep sanctuary became a sanctuary. The fabric has a lovely texture and the color was neutral enough to set off my gray walls and add a beautiful glow with the inside lights on. The backing is thick with a spongy texture so they are heavier than some of the other lightweight drapes I've seen promoted as room darkening this is something to consider when buying your hardware. The length is also generous. Also noted while hanging it was 89 degrees outside and I could feel the heat off the window until I hung the drapes and then 2 hours later the face of the curtains were still cool to touch. That night my husband and I were absolutely delighted with the darkened room and when morning came it was still delightfully dark. Wonderful product that is true to description.
I had bought some of these from the store several yrs ago (see earlier review) and finally decided a few of my other drafty windows needed these. I bought 6 of the stone blue 63" ones for my breakfast nook area. I love the color but, it is a little darker than the pic. These are also very stiff and even after washing (on gentle) they still have some wrinkles. As i remember this takes a few weeks to hang out. I am not disappointed. Wish they had more colors and patterns for this price....also a wider panel would be good for some windows but at less than $10.00 a panel these will do. I will be buying a set for my slider door next.
The color was far better then I expected. Usually a purple/plus leans toward a pink or reddish color. These are nice and bright plum purple color. I used one panel for each of my windows and it worked. I don’t have to use 2 panels each. Blocks out the light, with just enough light so it’s not pitch dark. Even when just one window was covered it cut the room temperature by half.
I got the Boysenberry color which I think is very pretty and goes really well with the purples and reds in this computer/guest room. Pinks would also compliment this color for a girl's room. I needed a longer curtain to cover the small arch at the top of this window since the morning sun blasts this room. The length goes to just above the baseboard and also covers the arch. It took two 42"x95" panels to cover this window and very reasonably priced especially since they're heavy duty and machine washable. I had to iron the creases before I hung them and I chose not to wash them first. We have a cat box in this room and they'll get dusty soon enough. Thank goodness for machine washable!
We got the purple color and it’s perfect for my daughters room. We love the color not too bright and not too dark, and the functionality of this curtain. One side is stylish and one side is the thermal. It’s not smooth but it’s textured. Perfect so it’s not too formal for my little girls room. The length is standard and it comes in two pieces.
I love these curtains! Beautiful color and just what they say blocks sun, my room after three hours was already working and the room was cooler. I will purchase these for my whole house and living in Arizona can’t wait to see how it helps my electric bill. Love em
These drapes do block out the sun. I hung these with the loops that attach to curtains. They seen to hang better with the attached curtain round loops that pinch the drape at top. I love these. I actually ordered the black 54" long for two long windows off the kitchen in eat in area. They look very nice and the price is great.. I also ordered the 84" long for the family room in Spice color
It's very difficult to find a decent, white 100% blackout curtain. They're either made from cheap, shiny looking satin-like fabric or they're not true 100% blackout. OR ... they're gray / silver (because they have black linings). When you decide you want a rod pocket curtain with a header, now you're looking for unicorn. I don't know why some genius hasn't created a white curtain with a thick white liner. These Eclipse curtains are the best I've found so far. (I was introduced to this brand when I bought curtains for my downstairs but they had big grommets. I definitely couldn't use those type of curtains in my bedroom - very antique'y decor). The fabric is made to look like linen. The lining is thick. They are 99.99% blackout. The reason I deducted a star is because one panel was great. The other panel appeared to have been cut in half and returned. There was also a dirty, spray painted cardboard square. I re-ordered and have my fingers crossed that the next one will match the existing one in length and color.
I have other eclipse curtains that are all fabric and I love them. These are good if you do not have direct sunlight on them. They do smell out of the package but after three days outside that smell is gone. I don't have a problem with slide as I paired them with the mainstays wrap around rod. Overall worth the price, but if you have direct sunlight and want the true black out go higher end. I don't plan on washing these but if I do I would never dry lined curtains in a dryer no matter what the manufacturer says.
