Educational Insights Magnetic Alphabet and Numbers

Bought as a gift for my sone who is on the spectrum. My son is obsessed with letters %26 numbers math. he was especially excited about the lower case letters. good amount of extra vowels to spell out messages %26 do full math equations. I would recommend this item %26 at a fair price with quick shipment

I had got these alphabet magnet letters just to have, but they are becoming more useful than I thought they would ever become. I have even seen my 10-year old granddaughter "teaching " her 18-month old brother letters at the refrigerator with them. My 5-year old granddaughter practices her spelling words with them. My son will leave "LOVE NOTES" to my daughter-in-law with them. We all enjoy them so much.

Unfortunately these magnets are poor quality. We have other educational insights magents that are much better quality which is what I thought I was getting when I bought these. I thought the price difference was due to them coming in a bag instead of instead of the nice storage box the others came in. This set is made of a thinner plastic, weaker magnets that don't keep them in place, and the style of the letters and numbers isn't as simple (I don't like when they have the extra little “tails” as I think it's confusing for kids that are just learning). I wish I would have spent more to get a better set.

Letter shapes are not accurate. For example, lower case "t" has a curve at the bottom, lower case "q" lacks a curve at the bottom, etc. It's confusing for young students learning about letters and print as well as for those learning English as a new language to see conflicting or inaccurate letter forms. The old style of letter shapes (curvy g's and a's similar to this font) isn't what is currently taught when kids are learning to write. Please update this. Will be returning this item.
