A really great alternative to playdoh for creative play. I love the sheets that accompany the foam to add an element of structured play.
A good large size. Very colorful. A good value.
My kid loves this Playfoam Shape & Learn Counting Set! It includes 8 colors and multiple cards to match numbers and counting to. I think it is neat that this foam never dries out. It is squishy, can roll into ball shapes and even shape it into numbers and letters. I can see this set lasting a long time because it can just be wiped down and foam pops back into its case. My kid has a lot of fun with this set and is great for strengthening fine motor skills. Highly recommend for any toddler learning their numbers!
I bought this as a birthday present for my friend's 2.5 yo and we had a lot of fun with it. The guided play helped us discuss shapes, colors, nouns and even math. This is a simple concept, yet it was executed well with the images on the cards. Thank you for a great product.
I received this product from bzzagent for reviewing purpose. My kids are 3 and 6 and they love it. While they play, they learn. They were never that excited to learn. The amazing part is that it never dries up and while they play and learn, sensory can be worked as well. It's completely worth it and I would recommend 100%
I absolutely love this Playfoam shape and learning counting set! I work in an elementary MH unit and this is perfect to help my students to count and work on their fine motor skills by tearing off pieces of the playfoam and rolling and shaping them to match the cards. This set has also made math easier for a few of my kids since it it 100%hands on!! I am looking forward to purchasing a second set to have along with other Playfoam sets!
My son loved it. It really got him engaged and the foam added to the interactive aspect of it all. He is in preschool so this definitely has helped boost his number recognition and added a fun way to make him want to learn and actually practice his numbers.
We enjoyed the texture and liked that this product wasn't messy. But my kids didn't really get why the only objective was to place the foam onto the pictures. They wanted to build and sculpt more with the foam. They got really creative with it off of the pictures. Better than play dough for shaping and mess factor.
I was excited to receive this for my 3y.o son but was disappointed. He wasn't interested at all in the counting cards. It was hard got him to make the shapes on the card. He would just take the foam and do his own thing. He was maybe interested in it for 5 mins even with me playing alongside. It might be better for an older child who had more skill in creating the shapes. The cards itself are great for learning to count. I would not recommend this toy,
I have gotten kits with this type of foam play material before. While it has some pluses, it has a huge disadvantage to those with picky children. The main issues our family has with it, is that the colors obviously can mix, and when they do, you get dots of another color in the primary color. Which is very easy to pick out and fix, but it also happened very easily. In the case of my daughter, she hates it, and won't let her brother play until she sorts all the colors out. The cards are also a little hard to tell exactly what you're making, especially for a non-reader. I would have much preferred it if the number was a much larger font. I have also noticed that if you leave the play foam on the cards too long, it leaves a greasy residue. I like the foam, and I think it would probably be a great tool for an only child, but it's not the most helpful for my 3-year old to use when I'm working with my 6 year old, as he doesn't have the right level of independence. When we get tired of keeping all the colors separated, I'll gladly stick all the colors in a bag for travel. The foam doesn't really dry out, so it works well on tray tables or lap desks
