Have used this for years....hands down, the best stuff out there. WHY would they quit stocking it in the stores? Only place to get it now is to order online :(
The end result is that I am very happy with Elmer's Wood Filler! At first I was a little disappointed in the consistency of the filler as it was rather gooey or sticky and it made it hard to make it stick to the wood and make the application smooth. After a few spots resulting in disappointment I pondered a resolution; I put some filler in a small container, added a few drops of water, and mixed it in. I continued to add a few drops of water until I had the consistency I felt was right for me. From that point on I mixed up the amount of filler I needed for each project and am very happy with the results.
We've been refinishing a lot of cabinets in our house over the past year and a half and I started out using this wood filler to smooth up our very scratched up cabinet doors. It was easy to use and a year later there's no cracking or any evidence there's filler under that paint. I made the mistake of getting some other brand that one of the big box home improvement stores carried, and was hating life trying to use that mess. About to run down to Walmart to get more of this brand because I have 38 cabinets to go and this is the only filler I'm going to be using from now on.
Easy to use and works great
I have used a couple other brands. This 1 by far the best!!
Easy to use, great product.
Good product but container was only half filled.
Slightly stiffer/drier formula than I'm used to working with. Overall it does the job just fine. The container is slightly oversized and I can only imagine the more filler you use, the bigger the airspace gets thus leading to it drying out faster. I would buy a large squeeze tube if you don't think you'll use it very fast.
gave the product only 3 stars because the product actually does what it should. However, it lost the 2 remaining stars because of packaging. They should have taped the top down on all sides to keep it from opening in transit. Once it got here, it was a total mess... I was able to save half of what spilled.
The wood filler was only 1/2 full and they refused to give me a refund. Would not buy from this company again.
