I purchased the Equate Mix-in Laxative Packets for Constipation Relief, Polyethylene Glycol 3350, 10 Count for my dog who was having great difficulty with passing feces. I googled It and saw where it is safe for dogs, plus it has absolutely no smell or taste! I made my dog meals with rotisserie chicken, sweet potato, and oat bran with one packet of the PEG 3350 powder. I was disappointed the next day but tried the same meal with another packet of the powder. There was SUCCESS the next morning! I had planned on taking him to a veterinarian for an expensive procedure if it didn't work. Hooray!

I was post surgery on pain meds and made the mistake of eating a lot of quinoa (too much fiber). Walmart delivery to the rescue! I liked the taste (I did mix it with the white gator aid-which is hard to find), easy to use and it produced results on day two. I also was taking the equate tablet with sennosides. Day one I just took one tablet, day 2 I took 2 tablets and then an hour later the mix. I'm just glad it worked.

Works for me

anonymous May 21, 2025

This is the most affordable substitute for miralax. Works like it is supposed to. Be careful separating the perforated packets because they can rip easily. I take my time with them and haven't had a mishap so far. Easy tear tab top, no need for scissors like every other brand powder packet I've tried with the exception of miralax mix in travel packs. New health insurance didn't want to pay for polyethylene glycol 3350 packets (or even the run for that matter) that I already had a prescription for so this was a great option. Able to write off at tax time as an out of pocket health expense because I had a script for it but since new insurance refused to pay and gastroenterologist said stay on it indefinitely unless something should change with my system and under his guidance that's how it has to go. I use a packet each morning with close to the maximum water serving recommended to manage my ibs-c with the guidance of my gastroenterologist along with 2 tsp of benefiber in close to the max water serving size suggested in the evening approved by stomach doc. I was using the bottle of equate but found easy to mis-measure in the cap and last dose of the bottle wouldn't be enough and each measurement didn't work exactly how it should.

great for travel

Marianne November 2, 2025

This is the same as the giant bottles of PEG (Miralax), but super convenient for travel. Be aware that they come as a pair of packets and the perforated connection is difficult to separate without ripping the packets open, so use a scissors.

Travel must have

Stacy February 25, 2026

Excellent for travel and doesn't take up much space in the luggage. Works well, easy to use in any liquid, tasteless, and is convenient for my needs. I will pack one of these whenever I travel.

Powder packs portioned

Deena February 17, 2025

These are much cheaper than name brand competitor powder laxative packs. It's been helping with my constipation since being on weight loss injectable medication. I dissolve it into anything, my Diet Coke, my electrolyte powder drink. I find it most dissolvable in hot liquids so sometimes I warm up some of my base drink in the microwave for 30 sec before I try to mix in the laxative powder. Either way, fool proof product at great price point.

The upside is it is cheaper than the leading name brand product (Miralax). The downside is that it is harsher than the leading name brand product. The Equate product leaves me bloated and cramping. It works, but my experience using it is unpleasant. I'd rather do whatever necessary to afford the name brand product for more pleasant relief. One other caveat: Equate comes in paired packets, but they are very poorly perforated and do not tear apart easily. One must cut them apart to prevent accidentally tearing one open for a powdery mess.

Two packets are seamed together, so you have to cut them apart. I tried just ripping them along the perforated lines and they tore open and powder went everywhere.

‘Compare to Miralax'. False advertising. ‘Dissolves in water'. No matter how much you stir, there are lumps. ‘Relieves occasional constipation. It's been 5 days. Nothing. I'm returning this and going back to Miralax. Equate doesn't work. I thought I'd try it and save a few pennies. A waste of money. I travelled to Botswana with a package of this for every day. I can't go buy some Miralax here. Big mistake. Walmart is falsely this. It's garbage. Don't waste your money and health. But Miralax.
