Estes Wizard Flying Model Rocket Kit

Very easy to set up and lots of fun to shot in air

Well- once built- it's a nice flyer. Launched on an A8-3, and straight as an arrow-.spite the headaches with thin balsa It has streamer recovery - and with years of flying model 🎸 over the years - the streamer., while ejected Did little to slow down descent- engine has to be friction fit to eject recovery system. - with 4 sheets of wadding, (rec 3-4), it still had gas escape a i bit -.‘no damage to streamer). Fins are flimsy -care needs to be used when sanding and painting. To prevent splitting -spite using enforced “fillets”., a fin broke off when landed due to poor streamer length /design. This also resulted in a slightly damaged tube (nose cone end). Self Stick decals required cutting around red dots. A pain - no idea why they have “Estes” logo decals that don't display well. Nose cone pieces required extra cement to ensure it wouldn't fall apart. Add the need to put 3-4 layers of tape to make it a “snug fit” - just tops off my review of a neat kit made of low quality components- something Estes has caved too like other companies. It flies nice - although 1st 50-75 ft seemed a bit “fish tailing” -once accelerated- it straightened up and reached apogee before ejecting the “recovery”. I'm going to fly again. I spent more in paint than the kit. - will mend the smashed top- replace streamer with larger or use a 6-8” chute I don't know if I would spot this well on anything larger than a B6-6. It's small. It's neat. Just flimsy and I think can use some improvements (Fins and recovery). No engine hook. And if engine casing ejected - streamer would have been great. It's 0-3 of these foreign produced kits from Estes that lack quality control. I will look for Made in the USA. Summary : if ya have parts, patience , and want a fast high climbing a/streamer recovery-give this a try. Def recommend using A8-3 or use mini motors w/adapter for first flights.

Rocket did not come with everything needed to fly it! Do not get this!
