Euhomy is a brand that has been making large ice machines for industrial use for many years in the United States. Now they have a smaller version that is compact enough to accommodate a persons need's for ice making in the home. It makes wonderful ice cubes that a person can use for iced coffees and other drinks at home, and for a bit larger gatherings as well, along with home medical use. If you don't need ice for a while all you have to do is simply shut off the machine.
I got this ice maker on sale. For it to be under $50 it works great. It makes ice pretty fast and the pellets are thick. The ice will last a good while in the tray and even when it melts it uses that water to continue making ice cubes. I have it in my classroom and it makes just enough ice for me when I need it (15 mins-20 mins). Its' not enough ice for a family but plenty for you to have at work.
Seems like a good product
I was not able to check out this item as I was sent two by accident and ghought they were the same!! Only 1$ dufference so thought they were the same lol
It's extremely difficult to remove the drain at the bottom. I think I'll have to use pliers. Other than that, it's a nice little machine. I love the “soft” ice.
The ice starts melting immediately, so if you transfer it to a bowl in the freezer, it is wet and sticks together when it freezes, so you have one big blob you have to break up. It makes 9 cubes quickly, but it is thin , melts, and waters down any drink you put it in. AND that is the large cubes. I can't recommend it. The lid on this thing is like a cup top from your fountain drink, no insulation there. It just can't stay cold.
To clean the machine is difficult and hard to get the plug out to drain it. MakIng ice is ok but when i put it in ice bucket in freezer it all sticks together.
As the ice cubes are pushed into the bin they stack up against the back instead of falling into the front of the bin. This triggers the "full" mode %26 stops the machine from forming more ice cubes. We get enough for 1 glass unless we clear it constantly by knocking cubes into the bin.
Within a few months this machine began shedding what appears to be the rubber lining of internal components into the ice. I thought at first when the pieces were very small that this was an issue with needing to be cleaned more often... but as larger pieces started to be frozen inside the ice, it soon became clear that it must be components breaking down internally. Waste of money - lasted less than 4 months - not to mention more than a little gross. I attached a photo of the material being frozen inside the ice.
The one we received was a piece of junk. Made ice a few times and the first time it took a day. That was our first red flag. Once it started to make ice it worked for a couple of days and only a few bullets at a time then decided to stop. We've had a few counter top ice makers and they've lasted over a year but this one was junk right from the beginning. We're not going to give this brand another try. If you get one that works, you can't beat the price. We just got what we paid for.
