Great! Gotten specifically for multiple outdoor cat shelters. As someone new to straw usage, I were expecting the long, cylindrical strands that are often depicted in media and cartoons haha. I was not prepared for it to be short, flat, pieces. I thought I made a mistake, at first! It took a day or two, but the cats took a liking to it rather quickly! So this straw is a winner and extremely necessary for colder months. The cats went from sleeping in leaves, a widely cut open tote, and under the porch, to back inside their spacious catio, again, and a non-electric insulated cat-house!! Whew!! I kept the straw bedding loose for most of the sleeping areas, with only one spot on a higher level being stuffed inside a (tightly-woven!!) mesh laundry bag to have a type of “straw beanbag” situation. The kitties love it! I'm so grateful this EZ Straw exists! After tossing ample armfuls into a wide tote, a medium-large wooden chest with open doors, two floors of a triple-tiered catio, and a non-electric insulated house, I've still got about HALF the entire amount of straw remaining in its bag!! Now, that's a deal!! If you're on the fence about it, at least give it a try and see if your loving critters will get accustomed to it, or not! Also do be prepared for stray bits of straw to end up practically any and everywhere haha.
on time thanks
Easy to use and spred.
I thought it was whole straw, its chopped up ,but worked fine in the stray cat shelters I made
A great way to get straw without a truck to load a bale in! I use this to keep plants from freezing. Good for fall garlic planting.
10 lbs is a lot of straw! I needed straw for an outdoor cat shelter. It barely made a dent in the bale.
Not bad amount for the price. There was a lot of little bits that weren't good for bedding at the bottom, but overall it was good for a few animal beds.
I bought this for 2 outdoor friendly ferals. Even though its expensive for the amount, it can last a year. I only used literally 1/6 of the bag for 2 shelters (half filled) and I plan on changing it every 1-2months. Two warnings though: 1) This product is like 50% straw dust, 50% actual straw. The straw stalks are small and many of them have disintegrated into straw dust 2) This bag cannot be resealed, so you'll have to put it in a clean garbage bag if you wish to store it.
I needed the straw for an outside garden. It's cut too fine for that, it'll blow away. It would be perfect for indoor, or caged pets!
When I bought this I didn't open it until yesterday.. I make feral cat shelters and I use straw.. This product says pet safe on the PKG and advertised to be used as one of the applications of this product.. Wrong!!! It was absolutely not safe!!! It is full of dirt and it is impossible to clean it so I can use it!!!! I'm so angry!!! This is dangerous because the straw emits dust when stirred up ..the cats will definitely want to burrow into it and the dust will go into their lungs!!! I want a refund!!!
