Fairmount Santrol Grade Silica Pool Filter Sand, 50 lb

This sand was an absolute winner for my Intex filter this summer. It proved to be the perfect product, keeping my pump running smoothly and my pool water absolutely spotless for the entire season. I was seriously impressed with how well it performed, and it made keeping the pool clean a totally effortless job. For anyone with an Intex filter, this is the sand you want—it just works.

I got this to use for my red eared slider habitat and it's exactly what I wanted. It's clean, it's the right size, and my turtle loves to dig in it. I put aqua sand under it in one area for plants and the ones my turtle liked are thriving. I highly recommend it!

Great for beautiful white aquarium substrate at a fraction of the cost of anything labeled for aquariums from the pet stores. It’s exceptionally clean as well. Only rinsed once and was ready to be added to the tank. No waiting for it to settle either. One of my tanks constantly gets algae due to the lights being on more and the sunlight it gets, so the top layer of sand turns reddish. I suction the top layer out into a bucket and it rinses clean again. The other tanks I have are always that beautiful white beach looking sand. Out of all the other substrates I’ve had, this is the best!

Very fine sand. It's the first of the season but I'm hopeful it will be better than my old paper filter system I previously had on my pool.

The sand itself works very well... nice, consistent grain and exactly what I needed for my pool filter. It’s clean, filters effectively, and I noticed an improvement in water clarity right away. The only downside was the packaging. The bags arrived with some small tears, which made it a bit messy to handle. Aside from that, no complaints. Solid product and a great price for the quantity.

They made a label and never sent it out, no correspondence. Otherwise a great product but now it seems I will buy something else somewhere else.

I bought this sand for my sand pump filter for my above ground swimming pool. When I got the filter running, within 45 mins my pool had sand accumulating in it. I called a professional pool tech to come out because I thought I may have done something wrong during assembly, but it turns out the sand isn’t the same grade that pool sand is supposed to be. Thankfully I have enough time to return my $150 sand pump back to Amazon because this sand ruined it due to the granules being too small and getting up into the valve.
