There is two indicator lights on the top right side to indicate power has a red light and ready has a green light. The laminator has an automatic shut down after thirty minutes of not being used. I think this is a good option to have on this devise seeing that it runs on heat. This laminator will laminate up to 9 ½ in. 241 mm. standard paper size. The laminator comes with 10 pouches starter kit to laminate. The pouches are 5 mil thick. To laminate documents, pictures and a variety of other projects. The unit is also jam free. Right out of the box you can start laminating your projects. The the Fellowes M5 95 Laminator comes with 10 sheets of laminating plastic. The machine itself is a nice size fits right on my snack table . You should have a extra long table when you use this Laminator because the sheet coming out is a little hot so you want to be able to just leave it alone for a minute or two. The laminator is prefect for recipe cards ! It is easy to clean and keeps your recipes grease free. You can use a hole puncher to make holes to keep all the pages in a 3 ring binder. This is also a wonderful way to keep your children's artwork persevered forever. I was able to use the Laminator to make a collage of different size photo's all on one page. It's much nicer them keeping them loose all over the place. My Mom love's this Laminator because she has lots of tiny prayer cards all over and this will seal them up and preserve them. The Fellowes Laminator is a wonderful machine ,works fast and is very easy to use . A nice size to use and small enough to store away on a shelf.
This is the coolest thing i have ever seen. I love the fact that I don't have to go any were to laminate anything. I am using it to laminate my girls awards from school and pictures not in frames and cards that are made out of paper and you don't want them ripped. You can even use it if u want to laminate kids school stuff. There's so much you can do with this thing it's so cool. You can do big thing or little.
Fellowes M5 Laminator The Fellowes laminator comes with a pack of 10 laminating pouches. They are 9 X 11 ½ inches, so they will accommodate most average size documents and pictures. Other sizes are available. I used them all today and had no failures in the bunch. My old laminator was quite bad about jamming while laminating. The Fellows machine never jammed at all, but, if it should, there is a lever you can push to release the item in the machine. You'll never have to lose an important document, or try to use a document that's been laminated with creases or bends. Very easy to use just plug it in turn it on and wait for the little green light to come on after a few minutes (3-5 depending) and you're ready to go. Don't forget to feed the folded/creased side in first. Keep in mind that this is one of the smaller units, so if you are looking to laminate anything larger than 9" or so, this would not be the unit for you. Personally, I am thrilled about its compact and sleek appearance. Like most laminators, there is a "burning" smell/odor. I am sure this is to be expected, but the smell seemed even stronger from the Fellowes M5-95 then a few other brands that are used at work. If you're a messy cook, you can laminate recipes you want to save and reuse. I also have used it to reseal my work ID badge that was coming apart. You can laminate many more things like photos & documents and licenses and anything else you want from falling apart from time or the elements. You can't go wrong using this laminator. I hope this helps with your decision with purchasing this laminator.
I received this Fellowes M5-95 9.5" Laminator from the Walmart Spark Reviewer Program for free. I normally have very few things that I need to laminate, but I did need to have this in my home for those occasions that I do need to laminate something. With this user friendly machine, you can laminate your documents, photos, presentations, and more. It is actually quite ideal for home and home office use. The 9-1/2" entry width easily accommodates multiple document sizes, and laminates documents and photos up to 5mil. It takes only about 4 minutes to heat up, then the process is quite simple. Place your document into a pouch and feed it through to easily preserve and enhance the appearance of your office documents, school projects and presentations. A release lever disengages the pouch, allowing you to re-center or remove documents during the process in the event you need to. The machine comes with 10 three-mil letter pouches, so you have everything you need to get started without another trip to the store right away. It is quite compact and has a small footprint, so it is easy to find a spot to place it in your home office, or store it away in a cabinet.
Fellowes puts out a lot of products all over the world and they have a good reputation for their quality. This Fellowes M5-95 personal Laminator is no exception. The unit will fit most drawers and shelves for storage. This Laminator came with 10 8.5x11 pouches so you can get started right away. When you pick up this unit be sure to also get a combo pack of pouches with different sizes of pouches for your use. The Laminator itself is foolproof. Turn the unit on and wait for the ready light to come on, ( let it stay on for a few seconds to make sure it's nice and warm ) Put your item or items in the pouch, line it up square with the input slot, then feed it until you feel it grab the pouch. If your item or items move there is a bar on the back to release the rollers so you can pull it out to rearrange the items that moved. This might happen when you try putting say,a few cards that you need laminated before they start coming apart. You have to do this real quick or the pouch fogs up and you have to start over with a new pouch. That's the purpose of the combo pack which has different sizes of pouches for different items. As for use as a personal laminator, this should cover just about everything you throw at it. School projects for the kids and whatever. I can't say how it would handle a scout troop or real heavy use, but for a household it should do fine. The instructions come in three languages and are clear enough to understand. Just take your time with it.The only cons with this machine is that I would have liked to seen a smaller pouch assortment along with a cleaning sheet instead of the ten large pouches. Bottom line : This unit works.
This laminating machine makes laminating your documents and other things so easy. I used it for newspaper clippings, my kids awards and certificates of achievement, printed recipes, as well as making collages for scrap booking. It is very simple to get started. It comes with 10 ready to use pouches. Plug the unit in and let it warm up for a few minutes. Position your items that you want laminated into the pouch and when the machine is ready a green light will turn on. Simply feed the pouch with the folded side in first and the machine will pull it through while it laminates it. There is a release lever on the back in case you need to straighten the pouch during lamination. I was able to laminate three to four sheets in a row before it needed to cool off a bit. The green light will go off and the red light will come on when t needs to rest. Once the green light comes back on, it is ready to go again. The only issue I found with this was after the sheet came out and everything was laminated, the very bottom of the laminating sheet had small bubbles in it where there was nothing being laminated. Not sure if this was my error or something with the machine but every sheet did the same thing. I just cut off the excess anyway and tossed it so there was really no problem. I utilized as much of the pouches as possible but left space between papers so I could separate them. If you need an inexpensive laminator, this is a perfect choice!
Let's start at the beginning... plug in the unit, switch it to "ON", and the little power LED lights up. Then WAIT - about two minutes - while the unit heats up. (First time around, it smells "hot" - probably just the "newness" burning off.) Once you have the GREEN LED lit, you're good to go. Next, take one of the two-sided pouches and place your document between the sheets (pouches come in various sizes to accommodate different items). Leave a small amount of space near the top so all sides are completely sealed. My first test run was a letter-sized pouch and a standard 8.5 X 11 inch sheet of paper - this one happened to be the emergency phone numbers and radio stations in case of a hurricane (the down side of living in Florida). It took a moment or two to center the sheet in the pouch, but once accomplished, the rest was simple. When feeding the pouch into the device, do so with the sealed end first - otherwise it will gnarl up and have to be manually removed. Now comes (yet another) waiting period - while the pouch feeds through the unit heating and sealing it tight. After reading the instructions, I was concerned the finished laminated sheet would be hot, so I placed a plastic mat on the table to prevent damaging the finish. As it turns out, that wasn't necessary - the resulting sheet wasn't hot enough to be uncomfortable in my hand, let alone damage the table. You do, however, need to place the resulting document on a flat surface until it completely cools otherwise it'll end up curled vs. flat. Pouches aren't exactly cheap, so you might want to think ahead before laminating everything in sight. You could also purchase a single-sized pack of pouches (say letter-size), then place multiple items (Social Security card, voter registration, etc.) in the pouch and cut them apart after lamination. Just remember to leave a small amount of space between items so there's a good seal around all edges. Bottom line - this product works as advertised - you just need a little dexterity and a little time to make use of it.
I was very excited to receive the Fellowes M5-95 9.5" Laminato it was a real pain to have to go to staples to have things done, The setup was easy just unpack and plug in and turn it on wait for it to heat up it only took a few minutes to heat up. I had a few pictures that i tried it on first of my granddaughter, Not thinking I should have tried it on something that didn't matter much the first time, first I put the 2 pictures in the sleeve the sleeves they come with are like a 8x10 and it said to but the sealed side into the machine first so I don't think it can be cut to fit at lease it doesn't say to in the instructions. I put it in the machine it went through with no problem but the first picture came out with a few bubble 1 large one and the second one came out fine, I tried to send it back through it again to see if it would get rid of the bubble but it didn't work I tried to remove the plastic but without ruining the picture I don't think it will come apart, I won't be trying to seal any pictures again but for documents it will be fine. Like I said as long as it's not something that can't be replaced be careful other wise it worked fine
The Fellowes M5/95 Personal Laminator is conveniently sized, light weight and compact. It is 14 inches long, 6 ¼ inches deep and 2 5/8 inches high and weighs only three pounds. It operates on 120v AC uses 300 Watts and comes with a five foot long cord. The unit has only two indicator lights one red to indicate the power is on and the second a green LED that lights up when the unit is ready for use. Warm up time is approximately four minutes. The laminator has a release lever located on the back side of the the machine. This is handy in the event of a jam or for realignment of your document or picture. The laminator auto feeds your documents. You have a choice of using the arrows for 8.5 inch wide or picture size laminations. You simply feed your document using the arrows as guides and the machine does the rest. The one limitation of the laminator is the maximum thickness of the laminating capacity which is 0.02 inches or 0.4 mm. Laminating is a heat set process and therefor after finishing your laminating job the unit will stay warm to the touch for up to 15 minutes. Best to not place anything on top of your unit for safety sake. The quality of the lamination is very acceptable and the machine works without issue. Laminating pouches of various sizes are readily available at Walmart. This laminator was not designed for heavy duty commercial use but as a portable personal laminator for that occasional laminating job. I would highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a compact well-made personal laminator. Fellowes is an established and respected manufacturer with a 1-800 hot line if you have other questions or concerns.
