The Fellowes Image Last 5 mil laminating pouches are easy to use and create a lasting product. I use these pouches with my Fellowes Venus 2(125 Office Laminator, which automatically adjusts to the thickness of laminating pouches inserted (3 mil to 10 mil.) The first thing you will notice about these pouches is that they are sealed at one end, and prior to use, you will see a watermark on what will be the back side of your item. Simply prepare your laminator for use and place the item you want laminated into the pouch. Feed the pouch through the laminator, sealed end first. (The watermark provides an arrow to remind you this is the proper direction for laminating.) Your item comes out sealed in a crystal clear protective covering, and the watermark disappears during the heating process. The 5 mil pouches are perfect for preserving photos, important documents, and recipe cards. These would be perfect for a classroom teacher who is looking to create learning centers and other reusable classroom materials. Dry erase markers can be used on laminated documents, which make for easy multi-use activities. These are also perfect for those who enjoy cooking and like to have their recipe cards handy. No need to worry about those recipe cards getting ruined by drips or spills when you have laminated them prior to use. Additionally, Fellowes has an idea center ( www.fellowes.com/ideacenter ) where you can download and print (free of charge) charts, flash cards, signs, worksheets, seasonal décor and many other items for home, school and work. These items can then be laminated for durability. There are cheaper laminating options, but if you are looking for high quality laminating pouches that you can trust to get great results, consistently, I would recommend the Fellowes Laminating Pouches - Letter, ImageLast, 5 mil, 100 pack.
I am a Spark Reviewer for Walmart and was given a free 100 count package of Fellowes Thermal Image Last Laminating 5 mil. thick letter size pouches for review. The pouches are for use with the Fellowes heat laminators. These pouches are a thick size and perfect for those important things you want to laminate and keep. The pouches themselves have UV protection which means that the things you laminate won’t fade if subjected to sunlight. Once you seal the pouch it is water resistant and can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. When you slide your project into the pouch, it goes right in, it doesn’t stick and the pouches do not have any stickiness to them until they are heated in the laminator. I chose to laminate one of my husband’s sports pictures. The 5 mil. pouch is quite thick and I had to run it through my Fellowes laminator twice to get the proper seal, but it went through with no wrinkles and sealed 100% around all four sides. The picture is a two sided photo with a lot of sports stats on the back. The photo he wanted laminated was older and he wanted it preserved. After running it through the laminator it came out sealed and looks shiny and new. It was perfectly clear on both sides and the writing is crystal clear. The 5 mil. thickness gives a more rigid finish and is great for those items you want to keep flat, or hang. These pouches are perfect for presentations, reports, photos, and things you want to hang in your home or office. They will definitely give a professional finished look to anything you have.
I have a Scotch laminating machine, and had only used the full sized sheet samples that had come with it - those were 3 mil thick. They created a nice laminate, but I had only purchased the photo sized sheets for regular use. The first thing I noticed on these was the physical weight of the box of sheets. These were definitely thicker than I had ever used before. So, we gathered up some items to try out with the laminator and the new sheets. My daughter loves to do pencil sketching, so we gathered up some of her sketches she had saved, a few trading cards, and a small lightweight poster from a concert. The Fellowes sheets are unique from what I had used before, in that they have UV light protection on them. That means that things encased in the lamination will not be changed or yellow due to exposure to light sources. That makes them great for newspaper clippings and such as well. The sheets have a hazy finish on the top sheet to show you which side has the UV protection, but that goes away when properly laminated. We had one sheet that still showed the Fellowes logo, so we simply sent it through again, and everything was crystal clear. I experimented with them with both the UV side up and with the plain side up, to see if there was a difference. There was not a huge difference in the finished product, but the UV protection is certainly something that is nice to have. I have included photos of finished laminated products. I noticed that it really brought out the detail in the pencil sketches. What looked like a fairly light sketch actually took on much more contrast after being laminated. The 5-mil thickness offered a very nice finish as well. This would be wonderful for sealing and protecting certificates or paper awards. If placed right on the laminating sheet, you can even leave room to add hole punches, allowing you to have all your laminated certificates in a binder, should you choose to do so. The end result felt very similar in "heft" to a child's placemat - flexible, yet stiff enough to not be super bendable, and of course, waterproof. I was very happy with these Fellowes sheets, and can recommend them without hesitation.
I am doing a review of the Fellowes Laminating Pouches - Letter, ImageLast, 5 mil, 100 pack. Fellowes is name that stands behind their products. They are well known for their products quality. These laminated pouches feel thicker than other brands. I have bought from several brands. I own a Fellowes laminator too that I bought from Walmart. These pouches are letter size: 9" X 11.5". They are clear. They have a thickness of 5 mil. I also buy the 10 mil pouches. It depends on the project that I am doing. They are sealed air tight. That means they are water proofed. If you get them dirty or spill something on them all you have to do is wash it off and everything is good to go. I volunteer at an Adult Day Care and we made placemats with these pouches. They colored some Halloween coloring pictures and then I sealed the pouches with my Fellowes Laminator. They made their own place mats and were proud of it. They were worked great. These laminating pouches are also UV Protected. That means the picture or whatever you just sealed is protected from the sun. The sun cannot fade the picture. These are premium pouches. On each of the pouches it says, "ImageLast Captured for Life and Fellowes Premium Pouches." When you laminate these properly the words will disappear. I highly recommend these laminated pouches.
I received this package of Fellowes Laminating Pouches - Letter, ImageLast, 5 Mil, 100 pack from the Walmart Spark Reviewer Program for my review of the product. These ImageLast Laminating Pouches have built in UV protection that prevents fading and provides superior laminate. They are designed to be used with a thermal pouch laminating machine and enable you to preserve and protect your important documents. The premium materials provide excellent clarity and durability. They have directional arrow guidance so you can insert them correctly every time into your laminator. This makes them very easy to use; just place your document in the pouch and insert it into your laminator. And they are compatible with all thermal laminator brands. Once the document is laminated, remove it and let cool. The resulting document will have an airtight seal, excellent clarity and a smooth, bubble-free finish. With these pouches, you can laminate your business cards or create laminated badges for you staff. Other uses include laminating phone lists, signs, charts, and reference materials. These can be used many ways in the classroom and home. Make cards for recipes, laminate take-out menus, maps, letters and printed digital photos, prepare activity sheets and more for the kids. Use your imagination and create flash cards, download coloring pages and laminate them for the kids to color and write on with a dry erase marker and wipe clean for reuse.
After selecting this product I discovered that 5mil pouches are not recommended for my laminating machine. 3mil pouches are the ones I need to use. However if the pouches are smaller that letter size, the 5mil pouches will work fine. So I cut them in half and they did work fine. So, be sure to check the maximum size suitable for your machine. That being said I found the pouches to be of excellent quality. When I first looked at them I saw that there was a watermark on the back of the pouches. This did not show after laminating. The letter size is a good choice for items that are larger than the smaller pouches can handle since they can be cut to the perfect size. The clarity is excellent and they seal very well. It is stated that they have UV protection. I would say they are of premium grade.
This review is for the Fellowes Laminating Pouches - Letter, ImageLast, 5 mil, 100 pack. I’ll just start with you can use these laminating pouches to create custom dry-erase boards for checklists, shopping lists, TO Do lists or personal 'white boards'. Use standard dry erase markers and erasers. The letter size can be cut to fit smaller photo’s or clippings that you want to preserve as well, so they’re very versatile in choosing what you want to laminate. If you are laminating papers smaller than 8 1/2 x 11 it is important to leave a sealed margin around the whole object when cutting otherwise the seal will not be waterproof. I have the Fellowes Office Laminator Jupiter 2 and these go through smoothly with no bubbles. These laminating pouches are a good quality and they do the job. Sometimes it seems they have some static electricity to them but it could just be my house. Just make sure you have your item centered with a large enough edge to seal it completely. Keeping it as straight as possible helps, too. They are easy to use, the directional arrows ensure that no mistakes are made in feeding the sheets, and they come out straight and perfectly sealed. This is a great way to save and protect important documents or pictures. The ImageLast with UV protection is assurance of premium grade laminating pouches and the unique directional mark disappears completely when used correctly. I prefer the 5 mil but it’s all subjective to personal preferences. I do know this is a product I’ll use 100 times or more.
I received the Fellowes Laminating pouches by U.P.S. The packaging was poor. It was sent in a padded enveloped. It should have been sent in a hard box as the box of pouches were a little bent. There was no instructions with the laminating pouches. I feel there should be. These are 5 mil pouches and 100 came in the package. I bought laminating pouches with my laminator. The Fellowes pouches are far superior to what I have been using. They did a great job on all projects that I have used them on. I have had no wrinkles in any project and they worked perfect in my laminator without jamming it. The laminate is heavy duty and your project will last a life time. To keep treasured documents for ever I would highly recommend the Fellowes Laminating pouches. These come with UV protection. The size I am using is 9 inches by 11.5 inches. This size will fit most brands of laminating machines.
I often laminate phone rosters and cards for my office, items that are subject to a lot of wear and tear during regular use. These laminating sheets are perfect for heavy use, as the sheet is a bit thicker than average laminating plastic. The thickness of the plastic means you may have to run the item through the laminating machine twice to fully seal it, if the item you are covering happens to be thick itself. For those who not familiar with heat-sealed laminating sheets, these are not “sticky” sheets like contact paper, you must use heat to seal it! The size of these sheets is useful for laminating most documents, and can be easily trimmed for smaller pieces. If you have a larger laminating machine you could line up the edges of multiple sheets and cover a larger document, though I have not tried this myself since my machine only accepts letter-sized forms! Bonus: the sheets are UV-resistant. I wouldn’t laminate any historical documents or irreplaceable photos, so don’t use them for archival storage. The UV protection feature would be best suited for laminating something you have hanging in a window or using in an area that receives a lot of light, it will keep your documents from fading quickly.
The Fellowes Laminating Pouches are super easy to use. Fellowes Laminating Pouches - Letter, ImageLast, 5 mil, 100 pack are very easy to use. There is an open end that the document or picture you are laminating slides into smoothly. No dragging or snagging stickiness inside the pouch to ruin your project. The 5mil pouch is a good weight that is pliable, yet sturdy. The out come of the finished laminated product is a crystal clear view of the document or photo that is UV protected. So it will stay bright over time verses being unprotected. The Fellows logo disappears when the laminating is done correctly so no guessing if the heat worked. Suggest laminating product menus, signs and and weekly chore list. I use the pouches for laminating photos, flash cards for school, business cards, and documents I use often. The possibilities are endless. Fellows even has an idea center to help with your laminating projects. While I have a Fellows Laminator, the package reads that the laminating sheets are compatible with other laminators. Perfect size for Letter sized projects at 11-1/2" x 9".
