Quality Laminating Pouches by Fellowes

SSSandANS November 7, 2015

The Fellowes Image Last 5 mil laminating pouches are easy to use and create a lasting product. I use these pouches with my Fellowes Venus 2(125 Office Laminator, which automatically adjusts to the thickness of laminating pouches inserted (3 mil to 10 mil.) The first thing you will notice about these pouches is that they are sealed at one end, and prior to use, you will see a watermark on what will be the back side of your item. Simply prepare your laminator for use and place the item you want laminated into the pouch. Feed the pouch through the laminator, sealed end first. (The watermark provides an arrow to remind you this is the proper direction for laminating.) Your item comes out sealed in a crystal clear protective covering, and the watermark disappears during the heating process. The 5 mil pouches are perfect for preserving photos, important documents, and recipe cards. These would be perfect for a classroom teacher who is looking to create learning centers and other reusable classroom materials. Dry erase markers can be used on laminated documents, which make for easy multi-use activities. These are also perfect for those who enjoy cooking and like to have their recipe cards handy. No need to worry about those recipe cards getting ruined by drips or spills when you have laminated them prior to use. Additionally, Fellowes has an idea center ( www.fellowes.com/ideacenter ) where you can download and print (free of charge) charts, flash cards, signs, worksheets, seasonal décor and many other items for home, school and work. These items can then be laminated for durability. There are cheaper laminating options, but if you are looking for high quality laminating pouches that you can trust to get great results, consistently, I would recommend the Fellowes Laminating Pouches - Letter, ImageLast, 5 mil, 100 pack.

Quality laminating pouches

sweetepi November 13, 2015

The Fellowes Laminating Pouches are really a quality product. The sheets are a nice weight and work perfectly to laminate quick start guides, project handouts, recipes, homework and anything that you want to preserve. These are the letter size but they also come in legal sizes. They are available in 3 mil, 5 mil, and 7 mil. These are 5 mil, and I like them best for our purposes. They aren't too thick, the 7 mil are thicker, nor too thin, the 3 mil are a little thinner. They provide excellent document protection. Of course, a Fellowes Laminating Machine is necessary to seal the documents. I can't think of anything negative about these pouches, they provide excellent document protection without being too thick nor too thin.

Good Product

HorseshoerMike November 3, 2015

After selecting this product I discovered that 5mil pouches are not recommended for my laminating machine. 3mil pouches are the ones I need to use. However if the pouches are smaller that letter size, the 5mil pouches will work fine. So I cut them in half and they did work fine. So, be sure to check the maximum size suitable for your machine. That being said I found the pouches to be of excellent quality. When I first looked at them I saw that there was a watermark on the back of the pouches. This did not show after laminating. The letter size is a good choice for items that are larger than the smaller pouches can handle since they can be cut to the perfect size. The clarity is excellent and they seal very well. It is stated that they have UV protection. I would say they are of premium grade.

The Best Laminating Sheets

Dontliketowastemoney November 7, 2015

I love the Fellowes Laminating Pouches in Letter,Image-last,5 mil,100 pack. They are so easy to use, you just place your document inside the pouch and wait for the Fellowes Laminating machine to beep. Then you just feed the Laminating pouch with your document securely inside to the machine. Once it touches the rollers inside it gets pulled through, sealed and then comes out the other side. The pouches are awesome, I have laminated exercise guides, school documents, pictures, drawings, grocery list etc. It has been a great asset for my whole family. I am very happy with the Fellowes Laminating Pouches they are the only ones I’ll be trying. At least once a week or more they will be put to use in my home by my family or myself. Because the pouches are a clear plastic your two sided documents can be seen on both sides. I haven’t had to trim them at all because they have been the perfect size for all the things we’ve had to laminate so far but it does give you the option to trim them down to fit smaller pages. If you want your documents to have a very professional looking quality these pouches will help you achieve that goal.

5-mil ImageLast Laminating Pouches are great

Denver27 November 6, 2015

In the distant past, I worked in a commercial laminating business where we laminated thousands of menus, maps, posters, and paper documents every day. The 5-mil Fellowes ImageLast Laminating Pouches are a high quality product which worked perfectly with my Fellowes Personal Laminator. I prefer 5-mil pouches over the 3-mil pouches for durability since most of the items which I laminate are subjected to frequent handling. These pouches are crystal clear and resistant to scratches even when frequently handled. My laminated documents come out crystal clear, no bubbles, no wrinkles, and almost perfectly flat as long as they're allowed to cool on a flat surface for a minute or two. One of the more creative uses I've seen over the years is to laminate a blank sheet of copy paper and use the finished product with dry erase markers, for a temporary White Board. I'll probably end up laminating a few Yard Sale signs which I might be able to re-use a few times next Spring. My only complaint would be with the relatively flimsy retail packaging and the fact that a sturdier box should be used for 5-mil pouches. The pouches were delivered in a padded mailer which was likely dropped, rupturing the bottom of the box containing the pouches.

More uses every day!

MrFitz November 18, 2015

At almost twice the thickness of the 3mil sheets, these 5mil's are equally useful for "heavier" applications. With U.V. protection and acid free, they can be used for photos (although I'm still somewhat reluctant to try it on vintage images). That protection, however, is great for preserving printed images like recipe cards, daily planners, check lists, etc. Using a blank list with dry erase markers your to-do list or calendar or schedule becomes a one-time print rather than one per day - a significant savings in printer ink! Other uses might include lamination of a certificate of accomplishment or sectional dividers in a 3-ring binder. Signage would also be a valid use - even "Do Not Disturb" door hangers. Virtually anything you can print can be laminated into a more permanent state. Place mats, seating cards, etc. will stand up to any accidental spillage. Another clever use is colorful (and/or meaningful) book marks - for yourself, or as gifts. The "ideacenter" section of the Fellowes web site also offers quite a few suggestions (and templates) for any or all of the above. Needless to say, I'm barely beginning to scratch the surface of possible uses and ideas. Also, needless to say, I'd definitely recommend these sheets to anyone (with, or without any creative talents).

Easy to use pouches

NevadaW November 7, 2015

I wanted to try these Fellowes 5 ml laminating pouches because I have been using the 3ml of the same brand and I wanted to compare the results. I have a Fellowes laminator and I like to stick to the manufacturer’s recommended supplies. That way if there is a problem, it cannot be blamed on the fact that I used another brand of pouches. Right off, I liked that the 5 ml pouches have a “ghost” image on the top sheet with arrows pointing to the sealed top edge that goes into the laminator first. The 3 ml pouches do not have that. These “ghost images" disappear during the lamination process. The 5 ml pouches are also easier to peel up the corner to lift the top sheet so you can insert the paper to be laminated. I found that taking a small piece of scotch tape and sticking it to the bottom corner of the top sheet on the 3 ml works to lift and separate the top sheet from the bottom sheet. I don’t really need the tape on the 5 ml sheets. I laminated several 8 ½” x 11” prints on card stock. I have done the card stock numerous times with the 3 ml pouches and it worked fine. For some reason, when using the 5 ml on card stock, the finished product remains slightly curled and doesn’t lie flat even though I remove it from the machine and place it on a flat surface with a book on top until it cools off. The 3 ml does not have that problem. When I laminate plain printer paper with the 5 ml pouches, it does not have the curling problem, but lies flat. Conclusion: I use 3 ml pouches on card stock and the 5 ml pouches on plain paper. There is not really a noticeable difference in the thickness of the finished products between the 3 ml and the 5 ml. These pouches work very well and come out with a smooth and even finish.

Great pack!

MAC92 November 9, 2015

I use the Fellowes Laminating Pouches with my Fellowes laminator. We homeschool and being able to laminate pictures and other items at home is awesome. It can get tedious going back and forth to the teacher store every other day. It is more cost effective to purchase the 100pk. The 5ml is a little thicker, more like what you would find with an ID card. This is perfect for school items that you are concerned will tear or get worn with continual use. The Fellowees products are all great. They have several thicknesses to choose from depending on your needs and uses. The end product is great. I am very impressed with the quality and price with this product. These laminating pouches have UV protection, so what ever you choose to laminate should last a long time without any discoloration. There is no end to what can be laminated as long as it fits through the laminator! The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the packaging. But, I think that has more to do with the postal service than Walmart. The packaging envelope was heavy duty and padded, but it was ripped open in several places and looked like it had been run over by a truck. Fortunately, even though the box and interior packaging was ripped, the actual pouches were not harmed.

Fellowes Laminating Pouches

SenoritaC November 9, 2015

The Fellowes Laminating Pouches are super easy to use. Fellowes Laminating Pouches - Letter, ImageLast, 5 mil, 100 pack are very easy to use. There is an open end that the document or picture you are laminating slides into smoothly. No dragging or snagging stickiness inside the pouch to ruin your project. The 5mil pouch is a good weight that is pliable, yet sturdy. The out come of the finished laminated product is a crystal clear view of the document or photo that is UV protected. So it will stay bright over time verses being unprotected. The Fellows logo disappears when the laminating is done correctly so no guessing if the heat worked. Suggest laminating product menus, signs and and weekly chore list. I use the pouches for laminating photos, flash cards for school, business cards, and documents I use often. The possibilities are endless. Fellows even has an idea center to help with your laminating projects. While I have a Fellows Laminator, the package reads that the laminating sheets are compatible with other laminators. Perfect size for Letter sized projects at 11-1/2" x 9".

Fellowes Thermal Laminating pouches

fishingbuddy78 November 4, 2015

I received the Fellowes Laminating pouches by U.P.S. The packaging was poor. It was sent in a padded enveloped. It should have been sent in a hard box as the box of pouches were a little bent. There was no instructions with the laminating pouches. I feel there should be. These are 5 mil pouches and 100 came in the package. I bought laminating pouches with my laminator. The Fellowes pouches are far superior to what I have been using. They did a great job on all projects that I have used them on. I have had no wrinkles in any project and they worked perfect in my laminator without jamming it. The laminate is heavy duty and your project will last a life time. To keep treasured documents for ever I would highly recommend the Fellowes Laminating pouches. These come with UV protection. The size I am using is 9 inches by 11.5 inches. This size will fit most brands of laminating machines.
