First Alert SMI100 Battery-Operated Smoke Alarm, 1046827PT

I purchased this smoke detector to place in the ceiling upstairs in my hallway because I could not safely reach and remove the hardwired smoke detector that is located above my stairway. This smoke detector has a 10 year useful life. It can be operated by a 9 volt battery, that should be changed every six months, and can be hardwired into your home's electrical system. I have had First Alert smoke detectors operating in my home for the past 7 1/2 years without a problem. Which is why I purchased this particular unit. Installing a new 9 volt battery and testing it is easy. I would recommend this smoke detector to anyone who is in the market for a new smoke detector.

SO FAR IT'S WORKING GREAT. MY PREVIOUS ALARM KEPT BEEPING WHEN SOMEONE WAS OUT OF THE SHOWER, BUT IT WAS 10 YEARS OLD. TIME TO REPLACE. 👍

I had to return as it turned out I did not need it. When I returned I found out that Walmart had sent me the incorrect model from what was ordered.

the alarm goes off multiple times every time we cook. my dogs are terrified! we have started taking it off the wall and putting it in another room when we cook. would not recommend at all!!
