Not the same number as the one I took out, but was a replacement that works with the others in the house. The only problem was the connection was hard, but it did connect to the existing connection after I realized that the metal tips in this detector itself or slightly bent it's a pretty good plug and play type deal, even though it came with mounting bracket and three pigtails. I was able to use existing base and wire connection
Fast delivery, rather easy to install provided you are pretty handy (I have 6 detectors - 2 with CO detectors and 4 just smoke). Having batteries in the smoke detectors was certainly a plus. Price was very good too. Would recommend to anyone who's hardwired smoke detectors have expired.
Very nice when replacing old one, easy install. Its hardwired %26 battery which you should replace every 6 months per our local fire department personnel. He also stated that they are not yet sure of the new smoke alarms that have 10 year batteries in them.
I looked at other stores and Walmart had the best price by far. Walmart did not have it in stock but offered next day delivery. Item came on time.
I got them today but I was confused why they came in a yellow and black color box with brand name “BRK The Professional Standard” yet inside is correct smoke and %26 Co Alarm from “First Alert” not sure why. Will see how they work.
The alarm pictured is NOT what is sent. The commercial version is sent and the parts are just slightly different so they don't fit. Instead of easily switching out and plugging in just the new alarm the entire wiring, plug and casing must be replaced. I'll need to hire a handyman or electrician to use this.
This is a newer version of a discontinued model as indicated on the First alert website. For some odd reason FA decided to alter the plug ever so slightly to make the older plug not work. This meant having to rewire the unit into the ceiling. Not a huge deal, but still, why make a useless change.
On two occasions Walmart showed me the product I was buying. Both to confirm purchase and delivery. The product received was not the product shown. It was a smoke/carbon monoxide detector but it was a different model. How do I know? I tried to hook up the new model replacing a 10 year old model. It didn't fit. In order to use this model had to remount a new ceiling support for the new detector. It had a larger diameter than the original model and could not fit in the original ceiling support. As a result I had to install the ceiling smoke detector support. The wiring connector was the same. If you are replacing the detector make sure you get what you paid for. In my case I did not and told WALMART so!
This is not what is being advertised for sale. I received a completely different brand than what I ordered.
Overpriced. This was bought to replace existing 10 year old hardwired smoke/CO detector. They have replaced the model I had which is no longer sold. It does not fit the older base so i had to switch the base. That isn't a big deal except fornthe fact that the new base is smaller so I now have a ring of unpainted area circling the detector. As soon as i find a matcbing paint i will fix that.
