The knife is much larger than I expected, which is a good thing. The blade is 6 inch ling and the handle is about 4". It also comes with a holster type case which was another surprise. The blade is really sharp on both sides. I read some where that someone saying the he bent the blade, I don't know how that is possible unless you are trying to uproot a tree.

We love that the forked tip makes easy work of weeding. When gardening you need to find depths to plant seeds and it is easier with the English and metric measurements on the shovel handle part. The handle has an ergonomic, Soft grip handle offers comfort and control. The tool includes a hard plastic sheath with belt loop provides convenient storage and portability. We used the Fiskars Hori Hori Garden multi-purpose gardening knife tool in the yard this weekend as we were doing clean up and getting ready to plant our garden and flowers for this year. We used it to cut up some sod, we weeded with it, and started making rows to see how well it works because it is still a little too early to plant anything. We look forward to using to more this summer and fall as we grow our garden. I would recommend this to anyone who is an avid gardener and wants a strong and useful multi-purpose gardening tool that won't break while digging a whole to plant their seeds or weeding.

From the handle that fits your hand regardless of if you are wearing gloves or not, to the blades on both sides. One side will cut twine, or bags open. The other will saw vines or small shrubs. The weeding blade is also sharp and capable of plucking even the most stubborn dandelion roots. On top of all this it comes with a great scabbard that clips onto your belt making you look like Rambo in the garden.

As soon as I opened the box I was surprised at how sharp the teeth are. I would definitely handle it with care as it could easily cut through the skin. Carefully examining the tool, I noticed it had a nice weight to it and felt good in my hand. The wooden handle is smooth to the touch and rounded along the edge. There is also a nice point at the tip. I would definitely recommend storing it in the thick leather case when not in use. I was even more excited that it was marked with measurements, down the middle, for soil depth. This was one of the reasons this particular model caught my attention. I decided to put it to good use and trim my ferns for the season. I have 2 different types of ferns, although I'm not sure what they are called. One is super tall kind of like a fan and the other is shorter more stick-like. The blade easily cuts through both types. I wouldn't say it glided through but still easier than using shears. I'd grab a handful near the base then slice through easily.

Great tool! Saws, slices, pops weeds, opens packaging, and has a scale on one side of blade for planting bulbs. Very sturdy tool, as is the holster. It is a good size, but not so big as to get in the way moving around the garden. The “fangs” on the tip of the blade are also great for popping tie wraps!
