Fiskars Steel Extended Reach Tiller, 40-inch

This item is good to have for gardening. I am a beginner gardener and while researching this product was advertised and gave it a shot. It does not go too deep into the ground in tilling and have seen other tools to go even deeper but it does do a great job in getting it started to break into the ground. It does require your strong core muscles to utilize this tool. Sturdy and well made and I will definitely recommend this product. Walmart delivery was also pretty decent. They kept the ongoing communications with me until delivery arrived at my doorstep.

I can't believe it's half the price of some of the tillers that are not designed as well. That really makes this a great bargain! But that's not the whole story here. Aside from being a great bargain, this is one rock-solid tool. I mean, the construction is out of this world SOLID. It's like something you'd see on a heavy-duty piece of rock hauling equipment - one of those big trucks that haul pay dirt on Gold Rush. It is really and seriously built - all-steel construction and welded. This tiller isn't one of those things that comes in pieces and you have to assemble it when it arrives at your door step. No, it's built to last. It is also tall enough to keep me from having to bend over while I work and that saves my aching back. I was using a hand tiller before and it was killing my knees and back. Now I don't have to kneel down and hunch over at all. I simply walk around and till up the soil where it needs tilling. I also like the large foot bar. The opening is really large so I can get my foot in there and the pad is big enough so I can really put some pressure on there to help get the tines into the ground. The soil where my grass isn't growing is really compacted so I have to apply some real heavy pressure. The oversized footpad allows me to do that. So, build quality and price make this thing the world's perfect tiller. It's a must-have for any gardener!

I'm 73.... I wanted to loosen soil in a 200 sq ft area to replant grass that had been taken over with crabgrass. This tool was perfect for that job to help me get rid of crabgrass,very easily rake out and re plant with new grass seed. I have found it very useful in tilling small areas of my garden and flower bed. Best tool in the shed.

This tiller works very well. I was not sure if this item would work but it does the job. Not as hard as digging with a pick and shovel. Just push into the ground and turn the handle.

Very sturdy really gets into the dirt.

The bomb! Great tool! Don't know why I waited to long to buy this for myself. I own quite a few Fiskars tools and this one also did not disappoint.

I only needed it to break ground on a couple of flower beds. This thing exceeded my expectations. It broke the ground perfectly. If you hit a rock just move over a bit, stab the ground and twist, the rock will pop up. I did not clear the grass first, but that was no obstacle. It destroyed the grass and it's roots. I left the grass to die and dry so it will fertilize the soil for the spring. The bed closest in the photo was tilled today, the grass still there. The bed furthest was tilled a week ago. The grass was left in the same manner. Free fertilizer.

This tiller really saves your back. I am 65 and my back was sore after planting bushes. The handle could be wider, and the tines could be sharper. I would recommend this tiller to a friend.

Great. Heavy duty works well.

Decided to purchase the Fiskars 40 inch long handled tiller instead of more expensive options. The tines are very sturdy and has the ability to use the power of your legs to break up hard packed gravel/dirt. Also its 2 inches longer than its competitors which works well for me. I'd highly recommend this product for others considering a hand weed tiller.
