We purchased this to replace an 18 year old Maytag air conditioner that we had installed in the wall of our garage. With a tiny bit of wiggling, we managed to fit it in the same hole...but we needed to put a frame around the face, as it was narrower than the old one. It's EER rating is better, and it puts out some good, cool air without being noisy. It has a remote, but you can push the touch buttons on the face to do the same thing. Seems quite efficient and quiet overall. I like the 12K BTU!
Love this air conditioner! It is perfect for our little house. Keeps our home at a very comfortable temperature. I would highly recommend this air conditioning unit!
This appears to be very economic to cool our garage. It was easy to install. It has nice features that other a/c's charge more for. The price was very reasonable.
I was shopping around for a window ac for a bit lately just looking around and pricing units and then my GE A.C. (10,000 BTU) which I purchased from Walmart a few years ago and it happen to just half drop dead, the fan stop spinning and then kicked back in for that night. After shopping around for another unit (and thank goodness that following days were cooler) and stumbled upon this unit and for the extra 20 buck it was worth it BTU wise, it cooled down the bedroom in quick order and maintained it at the temp of 73 on Eco mode while there has been high heat and mega humidity in the NYC area as of late. I received the unit in less then two days which was great on how fast they were able to ship it out and get it to me.
I bought this for my daughter. She had an 11.5 btu unit before. She is very pleased with this unit. It cools faster and a larger area than her previous unit.
Delivery was originally Walmart listed as Sunday afternoon, signature required. I adjusted my schedule and double checked on FedX site on Sunday to find it listed for Monday. So I adjusted my schedule. I get notice its been delivered and look out the window to see FedX driving away (didn't have to take two of my days to cover delivery after all). Packaging was great..lots of foam and a two piece box strapped together. Wings went right on ...no need for directions. Three window screws and its safely installed. Fan and compressor are run by an energy saving sensor that adjusts based on demand. I have always cut a bit of Styrofoam to tape in behind AC wings. This united needed that modification more than others I've installed over my half century of installs. I have it running in a 2000 foot two story house in Tennessee with triple digit heat. It knocks about ten degrees off temps and takes humidity down to 55, as expected. Noise level is about what I expected, much less than older models. Paint looks like it should last a decade. Air duct and fresh air vent are fragile expanded foam and may require extra caution for spring vacuuming session. The remote is a nice add on.
Th air conditioner itself is wonderful. The delivery took one week which was longer than expected. I needed to re-schedule the appointment to have it installed because it hadn't arrived yet. My elderly father and I sweat the wait. It came from South Carolina for some reason all the way to us in MA. It arrived damaged in a few places. We need it, waited a long time for it and the installer suggested calling for remuneration instead of holding off on the installation.
I'm happy to have received the a/c earlier than what was noted on my receipt page. However, getting it with a major "ding" in the back did not make me happy. I wish I had bought it from Amazon for the same price. They would've definitely given me a credit. I don't see Walmart doing that. This is the second big item I've bought from Walmart that came damaged, although the box didn't have any damage whatsoever. I just don't get it. One point taken off for not being in pristine condition.
I ordered this on Friday and recieved it on Monday afternoon. I worked at Amana/Raytheon/Goodman/Daikin for 31 plus years. This unit is a NFC (not first class) unit at best. The outer case was dented and warped. The box was not damaged, so it was packaged this way. Small amount of fin damage. It had all the parts and was no problem to install. It blows good cold air.
I bought this air conditioner after 3 months of scraping together money to finally have air. The product itself was amazing good quality and all. But the people who handle the shipping and care of this product need more training.ok say it got here we were excited opened the box took it out and noticed the cover was cracked even then I said it's only cosmetic( oh yea and my husband is disabled so I had to lift on my own ) so I put it in got the sides put on and screwed in and plugged up. Then it almost jumped out the window vibrating and sounded like a lawn mower it was horrible now I'm looking at it the whole corner was bent and realized it was broke and had obviously been dropped. So now we are back to being so hot they were now out of the same one of course so I know had to spend another 50 that I didn't have and still waiting on the new one sent the old one back still haven't gotten refund horrible experience ordering online first and last time online shopping from walmart
