I purchased a new air rifle and this target and I love this target and trapit has worked great
TRAPS BBS AND PELLETS OUTSTANDING
This is a great little pellet ketch, just be careful if you have a high powered air gun like my Bonecollector 965FPS it will dent it up, its meant for lower power pellet guns, the targets are 5 1/2 inch buy 5 1/2 inch and it comes with a stack of them.
I actually use this in my basement, I sit in my chair and shoot from about 10ft, I shoot bbs and pellets into this thing, makes a nice clanging sound, I covered the rear tube with some packing foam, because every once in awhile a bb would pop out, not a big deal. No issues with ricochet, its fun, I bought some of those round self adhesive splatter targets that I stick over the supplied targets. I just shoot my .177 cal bbs or pellets into this. Worth getting for my use anyhow.
It works on catching BBs but if ur shooting pellets, itz not really gonna catch them. The installation is actually quite versatile on where u can install. The material is strong and they send u a ton of targets to go with it. I have found that my higher power shots tend to bounce out and knock the target off. It would have been nice to include like a small bar that holds the target down and in the holder. My pellets have already started to deform the down spout that is sposed to direct the ammo into the catch.
The Gamo Pellet Trap is designed well, uses good sturdy material. Assembly was simple and went together quickly using the included tool. The trap is a little small but does what its designed to do quite effectively, I used a .177 cal. pellet rifle with it. I liked how it included the pack of paper targets (which mount to the front of the trap). I can use this at a distance of about 35 feet and it hasnt had a richochet so far. It has a nice hole in the back to hang on a backstop. Though it could be a few dollars less expensive, I would recommend this product to anyone that can shoot accurately enough to hit the smallish target it presents. A quality product.
It is a small trap, about 6-8 inches square, so you'll probably want to mount it on some thicker plywood like I did as an additional backstop. Helped me zero my scope. It's rated only for lead pellets but I had no problem using lead-free ones.
It works as it supposed to but is abit noisy. Not made for bbs.
this is a great target and good value but if you consistently hit the bullseye you will bend the plate that sends lead down into the holding area,
With a .17 cal at 700 fps the back deflector is severely bent up. I do like the targets.
