I did a lot of reseach to find the least expensive option for these water filters. I searched Home Depot and Amazon, and Walmart was the cheapest. I still don't know why they are so expensive, but it's convenient for me. The non GE brands don't seem to work as well. I'll be back in a few months to order again. Thanks Walmart for the free shipping too!
The filter worked great, only had one problem and just one suggestion to other buyers, when you get your new filter it is to be wrapped in plastic and sealed with a paper the opening on the filter. I had ordered mine on line and picked it up a few hours later, brought it home and went to put it in pulled the paper tab off and looked in the filter, well it was pretty gross there was mold and other gross stuff. In other words someone did a switch, bought a filter and then returned their old one. So back to walmart I went, they looked at the filter and let me exchange it for new one. This time i opened the box looked at the filter it was wrapped in shrink plastic and paper tab in place.
This refrigerator water filter is very easy to install. Once installed there are no problems, and it works throughout the months without any issues.
it's just very expensive
Just what I needed it fits the refrigerator and installed easily!
As far as I can tell, it works great it came in a timely manner. In fact it came sooner than the website said it would come, which is awesome. As far as I can tell, it's working OK there is a bit of a strange taste, but I think it's the water company that I am dealing with. I'm putting a call into them to see if there are issues with the water service from the community will update if that's the issue looks exactly as the same as what I was getting from Amazon. And from Lowe's. If that's the case, I will continue to get it through Walmart. And I will update and make my review even better.
The GE water filter has always been a good one for me for years
This product worked fine, but then how do you really know without sending a sample off to be tested? This was for replacement in a new GE refrigerator, first time to replace the filter. Suspicious? Yes. The shape of this one was not exactly like the original. The printing on the filter was a slightly different color. The box was from a two pack that had been cut in half so that one could be sold. Maybe this one truly is a GE produced filter. Maybe the shape has been changed slightly. The point is, as a consumer, this is difficult to prove one way or the other. Therefore, it is strictly a confidence issue in the seller. I don't know Spectacular Products and I don't know if they are an authorized reseller of GE products. I'm on city water so either way I'll be fine. If I was on a well and had to KNOW that the filter was removing contaminants, I'd look elsewhere for a filter.
Received a lesser model than the items shown on the website. Don't appreciate the bait and switch. Should have expected it when the price was so good. Will no longer use the Walmart website because of the deception.
The product I got doesn't even connect correctly to the fridge. Not sure if I just got a defective one, but this one didn't fit into my fridge (yes I got the correct one, I've always gotten this one), so now no water or ice comes out.
