Nice big bike, turns heads when cruising

bnipper2007 March 4, 2012

This bike is awesome, rides real smooth. I came from riding a Mongoose Mountain bike, my carple tunnel was acting up from putting all that pressure on my hands. This cruiser lets me sit upright and take most the pressure off those points. Only down fall for my size is the handle bars. They are a bit low for my riding. I am probably going to get a nice set of "ape hangers" and have them powder coated to match the bike. I miss the gears on the hills but the bike is so comfortable to ride. Definitely worth the price, and then some.

Old School Cool

BIGJONATHAN March 27, 2013

Easy to put together. I put handle bars with forks backwards.Still rode just fine.Whoops. TAKE all Stickers off immediately. Shiny glossy black looks like you are pedaling an old Cadillac. Comfortable to the extreme. I am 6'3" 300lbs. You sit up nice and high, elevated position.and cruise Old School Cool.Shiny black bike with white wall tires.Makes you remember when this sort of thing was made in USA.Seat was damaged in shipping,Since there is a Walmart in every town I just took back the defective product with receipt and swapped out parts. Sad part is my wife confiscated it for herself .Will be buying another.Bike strongly resembles Schwinn Corvette cruiser albeit $300 left in your pocket. You decide.

This bike is a champ.

So, I researched bikes for MONTHS before I decided to buy this one. I almost went for a $500 heavy duty bicycle. I am 360+ lbs and this bike rides like a dream. I take it for a stroll every night. Overall its great for a person who is heavy set. Its a large bike and the seat is really comfortable. The only thing I would have liked different is for it to be multiple speeds but its great other than that. The price is very reasonable. I recommend this bike for any big guy\gal.

It is exactly what you think it is..big fun!

VonZipper July 11, 2011

Neat bike with BIG tires and a really cool classic look. It's pretty much exactly what you would expect in a $150.00-ish bike and maybe even a little bit more. It defiantly has the cool meter pegged! Assembly was straight forward and being a real man I did not even crack open the directions...frankly I don't even remember if it came with them..in any case the bike was assembled in less than a half hour and on the road. I am 6'5" and it is just a bit small for me in the legs..I think I will pursue a longer seat riser..but the rest of the bike is a really nice fit. I particularly like the light weight of the bike, it looks like it should weigh 50+ pounds but it's probably half that. Bottom line is the bike exceeded my expectations at the price point it's sold at and I really enjoy owning it and riding it. I took off all the stickers and now it looks Big, Bad, & Black. I can see why there is such a demand on-line for this bike and feel fortunate to have snagged one.

With me being 6' 1" and pushing 400 pounds I needed to exercise some and my little guy wanted to ride bikes. So I purchased this bike for me and another for my wife. Leary about this bike let alone any bike being able to hold my weight this bike seems to do just fine. The only gripe I have at this time is that because of my knee reolacement my knee doesn't bend as it should so I have to keep the seat up a few inches higher than I would like so my knee will bend enough while I peddle the bike. I was also concerned that the bike was a 1 speed but the geariing is such that it is easy to ride and not a strain on my knees.

Awesome cruiser!

Big bike, but light weight. Great for paved trails and town riding. Use it for running small errands as well. Comfortable seat, did 21 miles on a paved trail.

29" Genesis Onex Cruiser Men's Bike

Anonymous January 31, 2017

Major complaint is that the rear hub apparently is of poor quality and mine does not fully disengage from the brake component. Upon Walmart assembly and receipt I rode home from the store. With the bike chain too tight and the inferior hub, constant pedaling was mandatory. I took the bike to a local Bike shop and they made the correct chain tension but said the hub is what it is. I have gone out 4-5 times now expecting a workout and got it. Perhaps with more miles on it the Hub situation will wear and improve. It is a good looking bike and all the rest I would give 5 stars.

Not everything I expected.

After all the great reviews from bigger guys, I thought this was a cheap and safe buy for myself (340pound, 6'4ft, 26y, male). Bike arrived in a couple of days, but the lock I order along side didn't come till weeks later. The bike was a bit more complicated to build than I original thought it would be, but it was doable with a basic toolkit and allan wrenches. Full built, the bike looked great and huge. After less than a week of riding, I begun to realize how difficult going up, even small hills (lots of long small slopes in my area) was with a single speed bike. Not long after I noticed the seat was greatly tilting up, so I figured I didn't tighten the seat enough. So I went home, fixed it, but minutes after the clamp holding the seat collapsed again, causing it to tilt in to a very uncomfortable position. I tighten it about 10x's before I realized the clasp hold the sit (a more flimsy bolt compared to a normal one) was just horribly designed for heavier people. Not to mention, 29er's look awesome, but you'll have difficultly getting them on to some buses, if you can at all. All in all, it's a decent bike if you're willing to completely change out parts and work on it, but I wasn't, so I returned it and got a nice, stylish, 26, geared cruiser that I'm much happier with. Tall people don't need a 29er as long as they properly fit the handles and seat to their size.

Like the 29 inch wheels

Anonymous July 21, 2013

Bike had two separate repair issues. The rear hub nut was too tightly fastened and the crank was too lightly fastened. This resulted in rattling noises when coasting and when pedaling. Both problems probably originated at the factory. I actually exchanged the first bike I picked up because I thought it was a fluke bad assembly. The second bike I took developed the same noises after a half day of riding. My local bike repair shop made things right. Walmart prices are low, but remember to include repair and tuneup costs in the final bill.

Item came damaged

Laur March 13, 2017

The size and style of the bike is great, which is why I gave it 2 stars. However, the bike came damaged. There were multiple dents on the fenders and scratches all over the frame. It was also missing parts. Regardless of the bike being well packaged. They need to work on their quality control!
