SEVERAL THINGS I LIKE ABOUT THIS UTILITY KNIFE, IT COMES WITH A PROTECTIVE COVER OVER THE BLADE, IT FOLDS UP SO IT CAN BE CLIPED ONTO A PANTS POCTE OR UTILITY BELT, %26 IT IS MADE BY GERBER WHICH NO ONE CAN GO WRONG WITH THAT COMPANY.

Very unsafe design to hold in blade
The blade can pop out of the end if you cut something that has tough spots along the way. Almost sliced me up really bad and I am on blood thinners, so I am going to pony up and get a quality brand of knife. (Which I "thought" Gerber was)

Gerber utility knife
The outside material is great but the inside mechanism that holds it open and is used to close it is cheap. If I had know this I wouldn't have bought it. It causes you to use two hands to close it. I would expect better quality in this regard by Gerber.

not great.
I picked the knife because Gerber usually makes high quality knives but this one definitely is not. the blade slips out easily and that is very dangerous. so I'm giving it two stars.

Don't buy
Blade gets leveraged if you hit a second layer of box or cut a thick box. This causes the blade to want to pull out as the locking mechanism for the blade is bad. Doesn't lock closed for carrying in your pocket. Does lock open.
